WiMax Speed Test in Las Vegas!

video://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVmymb1PXbc

Probably the most exciting technology of this year will be WiMax rolling out in the U.S.  Many cities in the U.S. already have launched WiMax in full service including Las Vegas.  At CES 2010, I got to test WiMax hands-on at the Motorola booth, using one of their latest 4G WiMax USB dongles.

In the simple test, I was able to get a 2Mbps download and 3.36Mbps upload.  This might not seem like very fast but at CES 2010, broadband speeds and even wired internet was simply horrible because people all over the world (who use a

Netgear 4G WiMax N Router!

Here’s some definitely great news for those of you who don’t want to pay for home and cellular internet service separately, a 4G WiMax N Router!  Of course, the only company is the U.S. who is rolling out 4G WiMax as of right now is Sprint.  But once that network is setup all around the counrtry, you should be able to browser the web everywhere with just one low payment for a WiMax device.  (At least we hope so, WiMax is supposed be faster than cable and DSL.)

I am getting on the plane soon and they have WiMAX coverage in Las Vegas so let me see if I can squeez

WiMax/WiBro Routers Available in South Korea!

While Sprint is still trying to get WiMax up and running in America by year 2010, (that’s the year it should be available in every city in the US, according to a Sprint rep I talked to last week) South Koreans have been enjoying it for the last couple years and now they have a WiBro router that instantly turns any location into a WiFi hotspot with fast upload/download speeds than you can imagine.

Of course, you can pick one up in South Korea (and use it in South Korea only) but I can’t wait t

AT&T BlackBerry Bold Review – Don’t Buy It!

As many of you readers know, I only post things that I can backup on this blog and to say the least, don’t buy the AT&T Blackberry Bold because I tried it last night and it’s as slow as your 3G iPhone.

It was my friend’s birthday in downtown San Francisco, (I also did test the 3G iPhone along with the Blackberry Bold) and had the chance to use his new AT&T Blackberry Bold.

Well, the benchmark was of course with my Sprint Blackberry 8830.  Aside from mobile internet speed issues, the Blackberry Bold proved to be bul

Sprint’s Dan Hesse says Google Android not good enough “yet”!

In recent interview with Sprint’s CEO Dan Hesse, he says that Google Android isn’t good enough “yet” for Sprint to promote on their network.

I can understand why Dan is saying that because Sprint is way ahead of every other telecommunication company in the U.S. as far as mobile data speeds go.

Plus, Sprint has been working closely with Samsung, one of the biggest cellphone manufacturers in the world.  Samsung

Nokia N810 WiMAX Edition Out!

Nokia N810 WiMAX rolls out, it’s a tablet PC/Oversized PDA/UMPC that is the very first WiMAX-enabled device you can buy today.  It looks like the industry has been keeping WiMAX on the down-low, meaning they were ALL making WiMAX devices probably at least a year before. (mostly for Asian countries who’ve had WiMAX for last 2 years now)

Now, everyone who ever knew complained WiMAX will suck can just shut up, thank you very much,   W

Samsung SWC-E100 ExpressCard and WiMAX is in Baltimore!

Well, the great news is that WiMAX service that I have been complaining about for years is finally here but only still in Baltimore.

We should expect WiMAX to become available in more areas and why is this good?

WiMAX is about 5-10 times faster than Sprint’s CDMA network, meaning this WiMAX broadband card will allow you to surf at Cable

iPhone 3G Too Slow!

As predicted, the iPhone 3G remains to be still too slow most internet applications.  Perhaps consumers are remedying their poor iPhone 3G insecurities with Wi-Fi access.

That’s not good enough for me to buy an iPhone yet.  I plan to wait couple more years when they have iPhones available on CDMA network.  (or WiMAX when it’s available)

For those poor fellas who have bought the hype and the iPhone 3G, you can no

WiMax will replace WiFi Soon!

One thing iPhone consumers don’t realize is that, THEY’VE BEEN HAD by AT&T by junky cellular internet connections.  Now AT&T is going to TAKE YOUR MONEY AGAIN AND RUN!

All the hype about iPhone is great for AT&T and Apple by not so great for us regular joe consumers who don’t know jack shit about what really is going on behind the scenes.

The truth is simple, CDMA by Sprint is faster than AT&T’s GSM and probably will be still faster after the so-called “over-marketed” second generation 3G is out.  (HELLO!

WiMax, Mini-Laptops, and Intel’s Support

A lot of tech bloggers (I won’t name them here) have been bashing how crappy WiMAX is when they haven’t even used it or don’t even know what the chip manufacturers are doing.

Well, finally here’s proof.  At least if Intel is thinking of new CPUs with WiMAX support, it’s going to explode!

I am going to get one of these cool UMPC with WiMax embedded.

Look at the logos of companies already making WiMAX devices, the future is c
