Earth DIY – How to Make a Solar 55-watt Plastic Bottle Lamp!

Here’s a great way to utilize a plastic bottle, water, and film to bring natural light to your home/office without using ANY electricity.  This method basically uses film and water to disperse the sun light into indoors.  It will only work indoors but still a great way to save energy, especially each of these so-called lamps produce about 55-watts of power, more than your regular bulbs.

SheevaPlug Tiny Linux Box!

Here’s an awesome tiny linux box called SheevaPlug, basically super-tiny Linux box running on ARM processor and minimal hardware.  The linux box can connect easily to your network and USB devices while only using 5 watts of power.

This will be a great tool for linux tinkerers and hackers, who should be able to make most of this device.

Here’s a great way to re-use cooking oil in a DIY homemade diesel engine to power up your garden lights.

“I have built a “off the Grid” home generator using a 1950’s Coventry Victor one cylinder diesel generator, I can run this on diesel or a diesel and used cooking oil mixture and have it attached to a large battery via a 40amp car alternator which supplies my garden lighting and via an inverter for 600 watts of home power and lighting. Green PC uses 27 Watts of Power!
