Verizon iPhone Launch Day! – No One Cares

Today’s the official Verizon iPhone launch day and it seems more like no one cares across the country. Part of the reason is that iPhone 4 is already well behind in technology with all the new dual-core Android smartphones being launched in the next couple months.

Besides that, it’s getting awfully close to June when iPhone 5 is supposedly launched.

Sorry but I think th

Verizon Launching 4G LTE at CTIA!

So, today will be a big day for Verizon, who will be launching 4G LTE right here at CTIA around 11:30AM.  From what we know so far, Verizon will probably launch 4G LTE in 30 cities by end of 2010 and hopefully nationwide by late next year.

I had the pleasure of attending Verizon’s private party last night (thanks again to folks at Verizon and great hospitality by Don at B Bars and Restaurant in SF) and actually got to talk to an insider at CDMA development group, who manages the standards of CDMA technology and 3G.

I won’t mention his name but the guy ad CDMA deve

Droid 3 – Verizon Droid Does Saga Continues with 1.2Ghz Processor!

The guys over at AndroidSwag.com, what we are looking at right here could be the next Droid 3 packed with a 4-inch screen, 1.2Ghz processor, and a QWERTY keyboard.

I think these are actually commendable specs for future smartphones as people are looking for something with a physical keyboard while not sacrificing the screen size.

Of course, similar specs will be on the Samsung Epic 4G, which is rumored to be out by end of this month.

Whatever the case, it’s interesting that the smartphone/tech world is moving very fast

Yup, looks like Motorola Droid X is coming next to Verizon with a hardware similar to the Sprint’s new HTC Evo 4G.  As you can see in the above pic, Droid X has identical size to the Evo 4G.  We are hoping the new Droid X will pack the new 1.5 or 2Ghz Snapdragon processor with Android Froyo

Verizon Jumping in the HTC Wagon with HTC INCREDIBLE!

Oh boy, the war is ON baby, Verizon is now jumping in the HTC wagon with HTC Incredible.

The Verizon-carried HTC Incredible could steal the show, though, perhaps being the slickest Android handset to date. According to reports, the phone will have a 1 GHz Qualcomm QSD 8250 Snapdragon ARM CPU and 512 MB of DRAM, just like the Nexus One. Unlike the Nexus One, however, the CPU will be underclocked to 768 MHz (watch out for an Apple patent on that one). While that

Verizon Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus Leaked Specs!

It looks like someone got hands on specs for Verizon’s Palm Pre/Pixi Plus models, there’s no noticeable difference between the Sprint versions other than storage space (that’s doubled) but I speculate that the new “Plus” versions will come with faster processor, more memory, and hopefully zippier web browser.

Otherwise, why would they call it a “plus”?

Oh yeah, I am still on the plane, live blogging in the air, hooray!

One more thing, my Google

Verizon Kisses Bing’s Butt by Forcing Blackberries to Bing Only!

Recently, Verizon has literally kissed Microsoft’s Bing on its butt by forcing its Storm 2 Blackberries to use Bing only on their browser search boxes.

Well, I guess Microsoft is trying to do everything to get a share of the browser/search market since IE has fallen off world browser dominance.

Verizon has unilaterally updated user Storm 2 BlackBerries and other smartphones so that their browser search boxes can only be used with Microsoft Bing.

The move is part of the five-ye

“Your credit balance is over the limit” – Vodafone & Verizon E-Mail Virus/Spyware!

Here’s a quick alert for those of you on Vodafone or Verizon getting e-mails such as “Your credit balance is over the limit”.  I guess it’s an e-mail scam to download some malware to your computer so just mark it SPAM!

Anyone who does happen to download the so called Balance Checker will open up a backdoor in their computer where other malicious software can be downloaded from the Zbot botnet.

“There is a danger that unsuspecting mobile phone owners might fall for the trap, perhaps co

Network DIY – How to Choose the Right Network for Your iPhone or Palm Pre!

PCWorld has recently conducted an unbiased data test for the 3 big cellular providers Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T.

The results are not shocking as AT&T had the most unreliable service, meaning you could get fast download speeds in your bathroom while you might even struggle to get connection while you drive.

On the bright side, Verizon and Sprint came out on top for reliability, which is probably the most important factor in choosing the fastest data network for your smartphone, iPhone, or P
