Robot DIY – How to Make a R2-D2 Robot Bar!

video://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuxkuzXUl0k

Here’s a cool DIY that shows you how to make a R2-D2 Robot bar for your next party pleasures.  Just awesome!

The concept for BaR2D2 was born when a friend showed up to an event with a radio-controlled cooler. We joked about taking the idea to the next level and in the Spring of 2008, construction began.

If you enjoy BaR2D2 as much as we have, be sure to rate this Instructable a 5 and vote for it in The Craftsman

Wii HACK – Industrial Robot with Wiimote!

video://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Y7Mr56dcQE

Remember the industrial robot that could swing that big ass arm? Well, here’s another one but is more sensitive for precise control.

This is a small presentation of a university project I have worked on for the last 6 months. Using a real-time system the orientation of the Wii Remote is polled and sent to the Stäubli TX 60 industrial robot. The concept is stolen from a game named Kororinpa but the graphics are little more r

iPhone Lego NXT Mindstorms Robot

God, it’s a Lego NXT Mindstorm robot with an iPhone!!!

video://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7pIS69teEvw

This is a demonstration of iPhone to Lego NXT Robot communication via the Safari browser and Lego’s Light Sensor. To build this, you’ll need a laptop, two iPhones, and a Lego NXT Robotics Kit. First, build your robot. Second write some Java LeJOS Robot code. Third write some Google Web Toolkit web application code. Fourth, plug in your iPhone into the robot, and use either a browser or another iPhone to drive the Lego

Homemade Self-Balancing Vehicle Uno!

As a biker, I couldn’t resist posting this cool Uno, a uni-cycle that can balance itself. I must have missed it when it first came out but here it is.

The UNO, built by Ben Gulak, is essentially a 120-pound electric unicycle that balances itself with gyros and is capable of reaching 40MPH. The inventor initially began the project himself, but contacted robotics expert Trevor Blackwell later on to help reprogram the ECU. Currently, the vehicle is still in testing stag

Wall Climbing Robot!

Here’s a pretty impressive wall climbing bot.

Ever rub a balloon and stick it to a wall? If only larger objects could defy gravity the same way.

Later this week, researchers from the non-profit group SRI International will unveil the design of a wall-climbing robot at the International Conference on Robotics and Automation in Pasadena, Calif. It can clamber up all common building materials, the scientists told Popular Mechanics—and proved it to us with t

Wii DIY HACK – Wiimote Lego Tank Surveillance Robot

video://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPCQyqeU0kw

Cool nice little wiimote Robot…

This robot is composed of Legos and uses a handyboard as the control hardware. It has 4 wheel drive each controlled by a lego motor, and a pan tilt mount for directing light and the video camera. The Wii Remote talks to a MacBook Pro over bluetooth to modified DarwiinRemote software, and the computer in turn communicates with the robot over a serial port. This robot was designed for and used in a small scale demonstration of Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) as an assignment in Intro to Robotics at

Self modeling robot

video://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkGaQqkyWII

Here’s a tight ass robot!

While simple yet robust behaviors can be achieved without a model at all, here we show how low-level sensation and actuation synergies can give rise to an internal predictive self-model, which in turn can be used to develop new behaviors. We demonstrate, both computationally and experimentally, how a legged robot automatically synthesizes a predictive model of its own topology (where and how its body parts are connected) through limited yet
