DIY IED Bomb Detecting RC Car!

Above video is an illustration of a real IED (Improvised Explosive Device) going off in Afghanistan. As you can imagine when that IED bomb hits a humvee, it’s not going to stay in one piece nor the soldiers inside it.

Well, there’s a solution to that, build a bomb-detecting DIY RC car.

…team is trained to be on the lookout for roadside bombs, but [Ernie] wanted to sent him something cool that could also keep him safe. By adding a camera to the hood of the Traxxis Stampede and using a gun-mountable LCD screen, the soldiers now have a way to see what

DIY Android WiFi Controlled RC Car!

Here’s a cool implementation of Android smartphone controlling an RC car via WiFi.  I know there’s a bunch of ways to use Arduino with Android but this is an example that there’s no limits to what you can do with an Android device and your brain.

The RC car (battery powered) is completely controlled by Flyport. The module manages Wi-Fi link to an Android Smartphone and it drives the servo motors (PWM signal). On the following video you see the Android phone internal accelerometers drive directly the RC Car.

iPod Hack – How to Make a iPod Touch Controlled Wifi RC Car!

John Boiles, a software engineer, has just finished making his really cool WiFi RC car that uses a Linksys router (attached to the RC car) and his iPod Touch as control.  You can learn how to make one of these awesome iPod Touch controlled WiFi RC Cars here.

I don’t want to take anything away from John but a little suggestion, instead of mounting the whole Linksys router, you might do better using a WiFi module for embedded processors.  (or just strip the plastic off Linksys at least)

Brilliant project though

Some guy in Austria Australia hacked the wiimote to work with his RC car. Nice job dude!

All you need seams to be a different bluetooth stack than the original windows bluetooth stack. So I just purchased the BlueSoleil Stack which works perfect for me (its cheap, around 10 Eur).

To connect the wiim
