Maker Faire 2007 – Automatic Drum Piano!

video://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylmzqhbbodI

Wow, this drum piano is the coolest thing ever. Although you do miss the physical part of actually drummin’ on your equipment, this is a nifty device for those of you good with the piano but not with the drums. On the site note, I have been slacking on posts lately. We had to move a lot of stuff out of our site which was slowing our site down. We will have them up and running again since we will b

Zedomax Maker Faire 2007 Coverage – Electric Skateboard

video://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djF3LRQvOBw

Check out this cool electric skateboard these guys made. Thanks Frank for letting me get on it. I was about to take off with it to my house… It’s an electric skateboard that goes forwards and backwards by simply putting your weight towards where you want to go. It seems to be using some kind of accelerometer. If they start selling these to kids, these would be way more cool than any Segways for sure.

Check out MetroMotive.com for more information. (A

Maker Faire Live Blogging – ALAVs by Jed Berk!

video://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TF_HRLe6ga8

Check out these Cool ALAVs (Autonomous Light Vessels) by Jed Berk! Tight! It uses Sun Microsystems SunSpot microcontroller, which can be programmed in Java. I like this idea since there’s a lot of Java embedded processors out there but this ones from the creators. Jed tells me that all the pieces were 3D designed on the computer and laser-cut, kinda cool~ 🙂

Jed says,

2009 Porsche Panamera

Cool, here’s a little preview of the 2009 Porsche panamera, kinda reminds me of the Porsche 928, my favorite.

At least three different Panameras are visible in this video — one blue example and two black copies — and they were filmed in various locations. One feature that may not have been apparent before is the Panamera’s hatchback, which is clearly visible as the car is being loaded up

DIY HACK – Wireless Keyless Entry using Relays

video://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9VTfzYiOQg

Here’s a very simple wireless keyless entry DIY using some relays and stuff, very similar to the Wiimote Door Unlocker.

The mechanism is simple enough, just a momentary button on the panel in my apartment, but the mess of wires in the wall is a little unsettling. I took some meter readings of the terminals and sorted out the door button wiring
