Affordable Wireless Motion-Sensing LED Floodlight!

Problem with most traditional wired floodlights is that they must be “wired” and that means drilling holes in the walls of your home and that can sometimes be bad (if you install it wrong).  Besides that, you might actually spend more money as for most motion-sensing wired floodlights are in the $100-200 range.

But why bother with all that when you can get these Wireless Motion-Sensing LED floodlights (that run on three D batteries for a year) and install them everywhere around your house without drilling

DIY Motion-Sensing Pool Table Video Game from 1990!

Here’s a video of DIY motion-sensing cue-ball video game from back in 1990!  That’s almost 20 years ago and way before Nintendo Wii ever became popular, nevermind we didn’t have 32-bit processors for video games then.

the middle section of the video reveals the trick behind it all, and it turns out to be surprisingly simple. No complex sensors or computer vision algorithms; the ball’s speed and direction are calculated by an 8-bit processor and a clever arrangement of four infrared emitter/detector pairs.

Motion Sensing DIY Headphones!

Here’s a cool set of DIY headphones that allow you to control your iPhone volume and whatnot through its motion-sensing circuitry.  I find that this is a really awesome headphones for headbanging bloggers like me who are too lazy to use my hands as they are tied up with my mouse most of the day.

The ’tiltphones’ are a motion-sensitive iPod remote control. Electronics built into some over-ear headphones pick up what way your head is tilting and sends commands to your iPod accordingly.
