Credit Card DIY – How to Cut Up a Credit Card!

Here’s the “right way” to cut up your credit card in 15 different slices.  I like to actually cut it up and throw the “halves”, one in the garbage and the other somewhere else.

Either way, you need to cut those credit cards up so you can be protected from over-using(abusing) them in these recession times.

To [scramble] the data in the magnetic stripe, run a very strong magnet along the stripe on the back of the card. Apply scissors or a hammer to the chip embedded in the card…

Magnet DIY – How to Make Fridge Bottle Cap Magnets!

Here’s a great way to re-use your old beer bottles into fully-functional fridge bottle cap magnets.  Why didn’t I think of this?

Heck, you could probably even sell these at tourist shops, what a great idea!  Might also be a great way to make gifts for someone you love.

A quick, cheap, and simple way to turn your extra bottle caps into simple yet cool fridge magnets. Plus graphic designer in my loves the variety, color, and visual dynamic that a few bottle caps on a fridge can create.

Magnet HACK – High-speed Magnetic Levitation / Floating Magnets Dude!

Here’s a great demonstration of a levitating magnet with 2 high-speed rotating cylinders.

Maybe someone can take this idea further and make us some hoverboards please!

While working on science museum exhibits in 1990 I came up with the above idea: it is known that a spinning metal disk will lift and fling a strong magnet. Therefore, metal rods with opposite spin will lift a magnet but WON’T fling it sideways. It works! I used “sched-80″ heavy wall copper tubes about 1-3/8
