Space DIY – How to Launch Personal Satellites!

Here’s a rather interesting way to launch your own personal satellite into orbit using Interorbital System’s TubeSat Personal Satellite Kit.  For a price of $8,000, you get a basketball-sized tube and launch to 192 miles above earth into “low orbit”.  You could easily do space imaginary of earth, videos, and anything you can fit in the TubeSat.  They won’t stay in orbit for more than couple months and will burn up (due to the lower earth orbit) but still, this could be a fun way to test your space technology.

For one, I can see myself equippin

WiMax/WiBro Routers Available in South Korea!

While Sprint is still trying to get WiMax up and running in America by year 2010, (that’s the year it should be available in every city in the US, according to a Sprint rep I talked to last week) South Koreans have been enjoying it for the last couple years and now they have a WiBro router that instantly turns any location into a WiFi hotspot with fast upload/download speeds than you can imagine.

Of course, you can pick one up in South Korea (and use it in South Korea only) but I can’t wait t

Stumbleupon launches its Toolbar-less Browsing Feature!

Stumbleupon launches its Toolbar-less browsing feature, of course, it seems that they have picked on our ideas from SiteHoppin, which is originally based on Toolbar-less browsing.

You can test both out yourself and judge which one is better, I still think my SiteHoppin rocks over SU’s new toolbar-lessness.

NASA’s new Spacesuits look more like a Body-Builder!

Check out the new spacesuits (on the right) that NASA has been working on.  It definitely looks more like a body builder now when you wear one.

NASA just awarded its future spacesuit contract to Oceaneering International. The US firm must now design, test, and produce two suits — the default suit (pictured after the break) worn on-board for launch and landing and a second, more versatile, cheese-proof suit worn during space walks and upon the surface of the moon.

Samsung Launching a Dual Monitor with Webcam!

Samsung will be launching their new dual monitor setup which includes a 22-inch monitor and a mini detachable 7-inch monitor you can attach on any side of the bigger monitor.

This seems like a really good idea and I think other LCD manufacturers will quickly start copying it.

It makes sense since sometimes you just need  about 7 inches of extra screen for IMs, video messaging, or a slideshow of your flickr while you work.

Sony’s new 360 degree Glass Speaker!

Check out this 360 degree glasss speaker from Sony.  It won’t be available here in the US for awhile but still…it looks cool and I bet the sound is good too.

Sony announced the launch of its unique glass speaker system named Sauntina (model: NSA-PF1). It vibrates with a single three-dimensional depth, producing clear sound in 360 degrees. The glass tube can also be illuminated with the choice of three colors including blue, amber and purple. 360 degree sound is not a big deal and can be achieved easily using normal speakers too, but th

Asus Eee Linux Box!

Asus is working on their new Linux box that looks like wii.

* As per our previous speculation, an official launch of the Eee Box will indeed take place on June 3rd at Computex in Taiwan. Hardly surprising given the show is in Taiwan, the home of Asus and many a computing manufacturer. * Specs wise, our source told us the machines would be launching with 2GB RAM as standard, along with a 160GB hard drive – obviously not an SSD. * These new machines will be running the same Linux distro found on the Eee PCs – no bad thing by our reckoning
