VirtualBox Hack – How to Make Capture Host Key and Keyboards Work Seamlessly with Windows!

Recently, I’ve installed Ubuntu over VirtualBox on my Windows 7 computer because I love using Linux command prompt and SSH, which something can’t be done on Windows 7.  You can go into SSH shell but you can’t do anything like transferring files natively to Windows 7 file system.

Well, i ran into a problem of the capture host key not working properly.  I found out it was because I have a Korean keyboard setup on my Windows 7.

Here’s an easy way to get around it, install scim-bridge-client-qt like this:

sudo apt-get install scim-bridge-cl

I definitely need one of these for lazier blogging…

Today was Fashion Hacking day with Diana Eng at NYC Resistor and I’ve wanted to make these keyboard pants for a long time. The basic idea was to take a flexible silicone keyboard and somehow integrate it with some pants (or shorts). I had they keyboards laying

Diamond-studded BlackBerry Bold The Tellor for Bling Bling!

I am not a big fan of diamond-studded cellphones, I honestly think it’s waste of valuable resources but this diamond-studded Blackberry Bold makes me think twice.  What’s up with the AZERTY keyboard?  Is that for another country???  (Excuse my ignorance, I live in the USA)

This is definitely a bling-bling I can replace with my Blackberry 8830.

For those BlackBerry owners who are contemplating sticking with this minimalist business phone might consider this blinged “Tellor” version, which is paved with a total of 205 diamon

If you are like me, you probably have bunch of old keyboards laying around.  Of course, one of the great ideas is to cut the cord and give it to your toddlers as kids.  But if you don’t have any kids, you can always make these cool thumbtacks.

DIY – How to convert a DIN Keyboard into a PS/2 Keyboard!

If you have been using computers since the early 90s or even before, you probably have couple of these DIN keyboards lying around.

Here’s a DIY that will show you how to solder on a PS/2 style cable to your old DIN keyboard so you can re-use it again.

This instructable is for anyone out there with a perfectly good older style din 5 keyboard that they just can’t seem to throw away. With a little work you can save something from the land fill. Sure you could just buy an adapter cable but that wouldn’t exactly be recycling.

Oversized Font Keyboards!

Frankly, I’d rather see multi-national characters fit into the keyboards but here’s an oversized font keyboard if you need one.

The Oversized Keyboard is actually more of an oversized keycaps product, but nevertheless it’s still a useful product if you’re finding it tricky reading those tiny letters and numbers. Right now the Ferret keyboard could do with *any* letters in places, never mind large ones. Still, it’s fun guessing which is which when you’re blogging
