Digital Camera DIY – How to Replace the LCD on your Digital Camera!

For those of you who have cracked LCD screens on their digital cameras, you might be interested to know that there is a way to replace the LCD on your digital camera yourself.  Although I don’t recommend this route and probably will void any kind of warranty, if you are circuit-inclined, you might want to try it out.  Especially if it’s going to cost more than the cost of the digital camera itself, this might be a viable option.

While hiking in Moab, I, like many others before me, disc

Vaccuum DIY – How to Turn Any Bucket into a Wet/Dry Vaccuum with BucketVac!

Here’s an awesome new product that will be available this year called BucketVac that lets you turn any standard painter’s bucket into a wet/dry vaccuum.

My take on this device, AWESOME!  I am sure this might become common tool among contractors in the near future.  Maybe I will ask them for a sample as soon as they are available.

Here’s another use for that 5 gallon bucket everyone carries to the job site. Turn it into a tough commercial wet/dry vacuum just by snapping a BucketVac into place.  A 5 gallon b

The Invisible Shield

video://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jnuD5sJ9A8k

The invisible shield is an invisible, yet very tough film that goes around gadgets to protect them from scratches, scuffs and dings. It has a very tough texture because it was originally developed for the military, but as it turns out, it does an outstanding job of protecting electronic gadgets without interfering with their original design. Perhaps the coolest thing about the Invisible Shield is that it doesn’t hide the original design of your gadget, which is really great for gadgets that already have very sleek designs, such as Ap

Laptop DIY – How to Fix Your Laptop!

99% of most laptop problems are caused by your CPU cooling fans (these are the metal thingees that are next to your CPU) being blocked by dust.  Most of the time, 6 months of everyday use will cause enough dust to collect in your cooling fans, which will either make your laptop run really slow or simply freeze up.

When dust collects in your cooling fans, your CPU fan will no longer work with you but actually against you, building heat on your laptop’s CPU, causing all kinds of havoc among frozen screens and boot up problems.

But don’t worry, it’s very easy t

Ethernet Cable Hack – How to Run Ethernet and Phone Line over Ethernet Cat-5 Cable!

When I first started working at a job, I used to work as an IT administrator.   At one point, I even installed cat-5 cable through an entire 5000 sq. feet office building.  That was a lot of fun as I had to access the office ceiling for a whole day.

Anyways, a Cat-5 ethernet cable is nothing more than “enhanced” phone cables.  The phones usually use Cat-3 cables, which are slightly thinner wires and is more prone to electromagnetic interference.

Of course, don’t forget the “

iPhone DIY – How to Jazz Up iPhone 3Gs Videos with Titles and Whatnot!

Here’s a really cool iPhone DIY that shows you how to jazz up iPhone 3Gs videos with iMovie.  I am sure there will be an app for doing this later down the road but until then, you can use this method to quickly make your videos optimized for the iPhone 3Gs.

it’s so easy to do that I decided to whip up a quick tutorial showing how this works. You probably have a tool on your Mac that can do the job for you with just a few clicks, drags, and menu selections. iMovie is the perfect easy tool for creating full feature films (just kidding) from individual scenes shot with the
