2011 Audi A8 is First Car Equipped Google Earth and Maps!

With Google’s new GoogleMaps Navigation threatening to take over the whole map industry, here’s the first bite from Google, a 2011 Audi A8 that will be equipped with Google Maps and Google Earth!

As for me, I will be happy that Google Maps is finally making their way into new cars as I find on-board GPS from other manufacturers either horrible, un-usable, or simply are out of style/date.

Why didn’t they do this earlier?

Definitely, year 2010 and 2011 will be the year of Google, especially when you consider the fact that Google is rolling out th

BUG – Tiny DIY/Open-Srouce Linux-Platform Microcomputer with Java Programming!

In my life time, I have seen many little linux-microcomputers that will allow you to do more hacking with less space.

Sorta like the ultra-tiny SheevaPlug, this BUG is an open-source linux-based microcomputer that already comes with accelerometer, camera, and even a GPS module so you can build the next generation gadget-device with it.

I happen to like it a lot, maybe I will get one soon to start hacking it.

BUG is a baby monitor. B

iPhone Nike+ Interface Leaked!

Here’s some leaked pics of what the Nike+ would look like working with the iPhone.  You do have to admit iPhone is useless for fast internet browsing on the go but it may proved to be a very good tool for running around like crazy and graphing out how you ran.

the biggest improvement over the old Nike system may be Google Maps support:

We don’t know just how robust the Nike+ maps support will be, but mapping routes directly on the iPhone could make for more organized training sessions. If only we

RoofRay lets you calculate your home’s Solar Power potential!

RoofRay is a site that let’s you calculate your home’s solar power potential using the power of GoogleMaps.

It’s very interesting as the site will caculate the solar power potential based on the roof area and the slope of the roof.

It’s probably pretty accurate as most data is using direct satellite images off GoogleMaps.

The greatest part about this site is that you can find out how much energy you will be able to make with new solar p

How to Geo-Map your Movies!

With Seero, I guess you can even geo-map your movies.  It’s interesting as this movie is based on San Francisco streets and I know where they shot it.

It’d be way cool if all new movies came out with a PiP screen of Google Maps showing the location.  (maybe one day when Google starts buying theaters…)

I’m a huge fan of ‘the king of cool’ and of all movie car-chase scenes. I thought it would be great to m

GeoQuake brings you GoogleMaps Driving Game!

Now, you can drive on GoogleMaps or fly on GoogleEarth. It’s really fun, I think there’s a potential for dozens of games and money to made off these types of apps.

The first, taking advantage of Google Maps’ new ability to work with Flash applications, lets you drive a car, bus, or truck around Google Maps. It won’t bat an eye if you drive through a building or into the ocean, but Katsuomi Kobayashi, the programmer from Os

North Oaks, Minnesota tells Google Maps to Fu** off!

Uh oh… It looks like Google Maps Street View is invading privacy of private lands.  Although most people probably won’t care that much but how did Google Maps get pictures of private lands in the first place?

Since the introduction of Google Maps’ Street View last spring, the feature has caused controversy in several cities and with the federal government. The Pentagon banned Google Maps from taking any images of military facilities, and a Pittsburgh couple sued the company over images
