Is “Geek” Even the Right Word?

For what seems like last few years, people have started using “geek” more, especially online.  I’ve seen a handful of blogs even titled with the word “geek” in it.

Personally, I just find the word “geek” negative and offensive.  Not only is it a stereotype/derogatory for people who are super computer literate, I don’t think “geek” necessarily means “smart” and comes with more negative associations than positive ones.

Top 5 Geek’s Linux Distros!

Call me old school but I tend to like Fedora and Ubuntu for Linux distro of my choice but here’s a good list and explanation of the Top 5 geek’s linux distros.

Of course, now I might have to try them all out and see which one is actually the best.  My Ubuntu has been failing as of lately on my spare desktop, everything is SLOW!

Recycled Bike Chair!

Check out this awesome recycled bike chair.  Now, this is what I call modern art that utilizes every source of renewable energy out there. Kudos!

The bike chair shown above is made using recycled chromed steel rims. It was recently featured on Forever Geek, which is where i happen to stumble upon the modern design (and eco) beauty. As you know re-purposed furniture and accessories is my fave type of green item. This one ranks right up there with the best of them.
