#EcoMonday Solar DIY – How to Make a Solar Cell!

As you know, it’s #EcoMonday, as Max Gladwell has started a new eco trend on Twitter, here’s how to make a solar cell for those of you who want to make your own using parts you can find at the local hardware store.

Here is a low power low efficiency photovoltaic cell that you can make you own in the kitchen with materials from the hardware store. This cell is made from cuprous oxide in

The Pharox LED Bulbs!

Yey, we finally have LED bulbs from Pharox that greatly increases the efficiency of light bulbs while lasting 50 times longer.  I have to say these LEDs are very handy for projects too while they don’t really product enough heat to hurt you even when you touch them.  Cool stuff.

The Pharox LED bulb produces a warm glow equivalent to that of a 40Watt incandescent bulb, but uses only 5Watts of energy. The Pharox bulb is compatible with standard fittings and has a stylish design that looks more like a traditional incandescent bulb, yet is 90 p

Solar DIY – How to Make a Solar Photovoltaic Tracker!

Here’s a really cool project that can complement any of your future solar projects.  It’s a solar DIY that shows you how to make a solar photovoltaic tracker that will follow the sun’s angles, thereby increasing the efficiency of your solar cells and more energy produced.

For a class project (PV Design, Appalachian State, Dr. Dennis Scanlin) I decided to try making a low cost PV (photovoltaic) tracker. Being able to follow the sun’s path through the sky can raise your solar panel system’s output considerably (30-50%),

Mind Hack – How to do More Stuff in Less Time!

Okay, here’s a fun mind hack for all of you working in a cubicle, home, or whereever.

It’s a mind exercise that can possibly help you do more stuff in less time.

I am very very familiar with working overtime at a cubicle, especially because I had the chance to work with fellow Korean people couple years ago, they work really freakin’ long hours.  (with no efficiency whatsoever though)

As a

Sony Unveils Ultrasmall Hybrid Fuel Cell

Here’s an interesting hybrid fuel cell that might just change the way mobile devices will be powered.  This one uses methanol as fuel, basically a form of alcolhol.

What’d be way cooler is if you could power it with some beer…

Sony Corp prototyped a fuel-cell system small enough to fit in one hand. The size of the system is about 50 × 30mm, which was realized by combining a fuel cell, Li-polymer secondary battery, control c
