Kenguru, the Car For Wheelchairs!

I know one of my best friends dad is handicapped and uses a wheelchair.  Of course, he can drive but he must wait and wait for the automatic reclining machine every time he gets on and off his van.

Well, there’s a solution for that, the Kenguru, car for wheelchairs.   The downside is that it only fits one person but might be great way to get around town.

Auto DIY – How to Make LED Headlights for your Car!

My friends have been asking me how to make LED headlights ever since they found out I can hack up some electronic stuff.  Well, LEDs are pretty easy to me since I’ve dealt with them a lot but I won’t tell you how to do it, there’s a guy who made an instructable for that.

The first image shows how things look right now: two upper ‘edge’ arrays, each with 21 5mm LED (pointed forward, 5 degrees down and 5 degrees outwards), a central array of 60 LEDs at top density (pointed straight forward, replacing the twelve LED array around the Hyundai symbol

Auto DIY – How to Make an Intake for Your Car!

Most of you hot rodders know that stock intake is cause of many power losses, especially the more horsepower your car has in stock condition, the more horsepower you lose when you first buy the car.

Well, there’s a ton of aftermarket intake you can buy but you can also make your own using pipes and pipe connectors (Arr…I forgot what these are called, see pics).

My friend is really good at this, turning $20 of Home Depot pipes and a K & N filter to make his own custom intake for cars.   The performance benefit you get from this hack job versus ones you

Auto DIY – How to Turn Your Car into a Snow Car!

Remember I had a blog post about the Subaru Trax Si, perhaps the fastest Snow car in the world?  Well it turns out that the company Mattracks actually makes the rubber track-conversion system for 4×4 vehicles, meaning Ken Block’s car isn’t nothing more than a Subarbu with a track-conversion system. (Sorry Ken!)

With these rubber track-conversion systems from Mattracks (although they are going to take a big bite out of your wallet, th

Palm Pre Hack – How to Mount a Custom Palm Pre Touchstone Mount for your Car!

Here’s a rather cool DIY that shows you how to mount a custom Palm Pre Touchstone Mount for your car.  I think this goes well with Sprint’s on-board voice directions GPS program although I still prefer GoogleMaps as it seems more accurate.

So you’ve been dying to get a Touchstone and put in in the car. You get one only to find out it doesn’t work in the car! As a former professional car audio installer, I’ve got that problem solved and here’s how.

iPhone Hack – DIY iPhone Controlled Van!

video://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHDwKT564Kk

Check out the Spirit of Berlin Autonomous iPhone-controlled van!  The van itself is controlled via an iPhone and through its WiFi connection to the van.  I think this touches upon the future of driving, perhaps moms and dads will be able to take their kids to school without actually driving.  Yey!

“Spirit of Berlin” is a project of the Artificial Intelligence Group, directed by Prof. Raul Rojas, at Freie Universitaet Berlin.

Run your car on water video!

video://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKM4pb9Oxrg

This one’s kinda old but facinating!

This is quite interesting using what they call HH2 gas, this company is working on using water to power cars or weld things. Currently they have a test vehicle which runs as a hybrid with water and fuel but they say they can run exclusively on water alone… While the technology may not be as unique or breakthrough as the reporter and company spokesman claim (it seems to be based on an electrolytic process commonly known as “Brown’s Gas.”), it’s still a great stor

DIY HACK – How to build a cheap bluetooth audio for your GPS!

Here’s a good instructable on how to build a cheap bluetooth audio for your GPS. If your GPS doesn’t already support bluetooth (I believe most don’t), this is a great cheap way to get all those audible directions into just the driver’s ears, not everyone in the car.

I needed a way to hear my cheap a$$ GPS under the helmet on my motorcycle and didn’t wanna fork over 2x the price for a “motorcycle ready” GPS device so I
