Here’s some interesting news from researchers at MIT developing robot “Garden” automation. I have to speculate on how “effective” this would be but I imagine it will be highly effective than not.
From the looks, it seems they’ve put a webcam, servo motor, and other goodies for plants in the project. This might be a sign that robot farming may not be too far from reality.

Hitachi has pledged to release a 5TB 3.5in hard drive within two years, and it claims two of the drives will boast enough capacity to store everything in your brain.
According to a report by Nikkei Net, Hitachi Global Storage Technologies will use Current-Perpendicular-to-Plane Giant Magnetoresistance (CPP-GMR) magnetc read heads to achieve the aim. This, the firm claims, will allow its drives to store 1TB of data in every square inch of the recording surface.

The aim here is to build a case that could be used in any living room without scaring your grandma out of her socks. For me that is a bit of a challenge since I have no experience in this type of design. But, enough with the small talk – lets get to it and do some case building.
