REALLY Free WiFi at Starbucks!

Starbucks is starting their “REALLY” free wifi today, no registration or Starbucks membership required.  I think this is a good thing although I don’t have any reasons to actually go to Starbucks because I make Starbucks coffee at home, just the way I like it.

Why I don’t Like Limited Data Service from Cellular Companies! [AT&TFAIL]

The other day I told you why I’ve boycotted AT&T long time ago and why you should too because AT&T has gotten rid of their unlimited data plans.

After, I’ve begun to see some new new blog posts by bloggers saying that their average use isn’t anywhere near 500MB/month, meaning they could save money with AT&T’s new limited data plan.

But you know what, you are missing the point, AT&T is trying to be evil.

For example, if I only used my data 500MB/month BUT let’s say my home internet died for a whole week and I had to tether my

Wibro Egg (4G MiFi) Launched in South Korea!

WiBro Egg, a wifi-tethering device using WiBro (which is like 4G WiMax pretty much), has been launched in South Korea.   Think of it as the MiFi device, except it’s about 10 times faster.

According to the test reports, it’s doing about 8Mbps down and 4Mbps up, not too shabby.

I know Sprint already has a “giant” 4G hotspot device, hopefully they will be adding smaller ones like this later this year.

Here’s a demo video of the device (in Korean):

Unleash the Power of Your Router!

Here’s a guy who manages to modify his Linksys 54G router into a super router by installing a CPU heatsink with an external fan, adds super-long 9dB antennas, and aftermarket firmware DD-WRT to overlock the darn thing as much as possible.

I actually personally using one of these routers with DD-WRT, overclocked a bit, but this hack certainly will allow you to be on the very bleeding ed

DIY iPhone Controlled RC Car with Virtual Reality Glasses!

Check out this awesome DIY iPhone controlled RC car with virtual reality glasses that let you see what the webcam sees. (which is mounted on the RC car of course)

Built by a Bournemouth University (that’s in the UK) student trying to “do something completely different in an attempt not to bore the f*ck out of my lecturers and inject some excitement into their lives,” the car can be controlled over any WiFi connection (hence the name) and transmits both audio and visual back to the driver’s g

Wep Hack – How to Crack WEP!

*Warning: This guide is for educational purposes only, do not crack your neighbor’s or anyone’s wifi as it’s illegal to do so in the U.S.   Please check with your country’s local law for those of you outside the U.S. and use common sense when hacking WEP.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of cracking my very first WEP.  Of course, it was my own wireless connection I hacked but I found it to be invaluable skill to learn just in case I go traveling around the world one day and find myself without a wireless connection, let’s say somewhere in Thailand for exa
