WASP is a Wireless Aerial Surveillance Drone that can Crack WiFi/GSM on the Fly LITERALLY!

Here’s an incredible hacking machine of the decade you will ever see, it’s a 14-pound, six-foot long, six-foot wingspan unmanned aerial vehicle built by Mike Tassey and Richard Perkins that can crack WiFi while flying in air and also intercept GSM calls from carriers like T-Mobile and AT&T.

What uses for this WASP?

This could be applied in many areas of spying on terrorists. Without them knowing, the drone can intercept their phone calls, SMS text messages, and even know every website they’ve visited.

See video of WASP in action here:

FabFi – How to Make a DIY Long-Range WiFi Network!

For most people trying to install security surveillance cameras on their barn perhaps 1/2 a mile away, you can probably just hack an old Linksys router as a repeater to get the job done or even build a WiFi Cantenna.

But if you want to make a DIY long-range WiFi network like FabFi did in Afghanistan (hooking up literally every village together), you might just want to check out some of their open source instructions on how to do it yourself using old electro

Affordable Wireless Motion-Sensing LED Floodlight!

Problem with most traditional wired floodlights is that they must be “wired” and that means drilling holes in the walls of your home and that can sometimes be bad (if you install it wrong).  Besides that, you might actually spend more money as for most motion-sensing wired floodlights are in the $100-200 range.

But why bother with all that when you can get these Wireless Motion-Sensing LED floodlights (that run on three D batteries for a year) and install them everywhere around your house without drilling

Router Hack – How to Connect a Mifi Hotspot Device into a Router/Wired Network!

One of our readers asked me if there was a way to connect a MiFi hotspot device such as Verizon’s MiFi or Sprint’s 4G Overdrive into a wired network/router. I googled it and found that you can do it with DD-WRT.

I probably wouldn’t do that if you do a lot of downloading such as Bittorrent as ISP will get mad at you if you over-use the device. (and could terminate your contract)  They are really made for travel and portability, not for full-time computing.  I think so, but you are free to check out what the limits are by downloading a bunch of pron and leaving us

WiFi Robin – Standalone WEP Cracking Device!

WEP cracking is illegal and I don’t recommend doing that to get free WiFi but for those of you who might need to crack WEP for other purposes, here’s a cool new device on the market called WiFiRobin, a standalone WEP cracking device.

Now, how is better than running your Aircrack on Ubuntu linux?

Well, running Aircrack on linux or anything else for that matter involves a whole lot of things including the fact that y

Verizon Launching 4G LTE at CTIA!

So, today will be a big day for Verizon, who will be launching 4G LTE right here at CTIA around 11:30AM.  From what we know so far, Verizon will probably launch 4G LTE in 30 cities by end of 2010 and hopefully nationwide by late next year.

I had the pleasure of attending Verizon’s private party last night (thanks again to folks at Verizon and great hospitality by Don at B Bars and Restaurant in SF) and actually got to talk to an insider at CDMA development group, who manages the standards of CDMA technology and 3G.

I won’t mention his name but the guy ad CDMA deve

WiFi Hack – How to Make a DIY WiFi Datalogger (Snooper!)

Here’s an interesting device that can log all the data off a wifi network.  Of course, you can probably use a PC to do the same thing but this one is portable and can act as a spy’s tool.  I bet FBI and CIA are already using something like this.

This could be a great way to track down if your wife’s cheating on you.  Of course, let’s not hope you are at that point ever.

This Instructable shows how to make a datalogger from an Arduino and datalogger shield connected to a TelosB wireless sensor board and a battery that is large, but not wheelba

DIY Wind-Turbine WiFi Repeater!

Have two locations you want to connect via WiFi signals but you don’t want to spend thousands on WiFi equipment?

Here’s a great idea, make a DIY wind-turbine wifi repeater that uses pair of Linksys WRT54G routers with DD-WRT firmware on it (which allows you to turn your router into a repeater easily) and connect two routers .33 miles away.

The power meter works by reading the amount of current flowing into the batteries from the turbine on a continuous basis. This is achieved using a Hall-Effect current sensor that can read up to 30A, which is much more tha

Droid X Mobile Hotspot – “Incredible!”

Right now, I am blogging this blog post from my parent’s house where the wifi signal is horrible to my favorite part of the house where I like to work.

Because the DSL is SOOO SLOW here (because it’s AT&T), I decided to give the Droid X a try and give my parents and myself a faster internet access.

To my surprise, Droid X Mobile Hotspot does “incredible”, I mean incredible like the mobile hotspot gives stronger signals than the DD-WRT Linksys router I have set up at the house.   And believe me, I know
