NASA Scientists Say “Android Is Easier to Use”

We’ve seen Google launching their Nexus S phone into space with balloons before and here’s another cool fact that Nexus S was used for brains for robots at NASA. Apparently, NASA scientists say that Android is easier to use and easily implemented into their space testing programs due to its open-source nature.

This is quite true, Android is becoming more than just a phone or tablet, it can be used for many embedded projects.

Rocket Launch Spotted from a Consumer Airplane! [VIDEO]

Here’s a rather “fun” video of rocket launch in China video-ed by a man in a consumer airplane.  I hope they make sure there’s no airplanes around the next time they launch a rocket.

What is the rocket failed to reach space and ricochet into that very plane the man is taking video from?

Definitely something to think about, it’s called safety.

Space DIY – How to Launch Personal Satellites!

Here’s a rather interesting way to launch your own personal satellite into orbit using Interorbital System’s TubeSat Personal Satellite Kit.  For a price of $8,000, you get a basketball-sized tube and launch to 192 miles above earth into “low orbit”.  You could easily do space imaginary of earth, videos, and anything you can fit in the TubeSat.  They won’t stay in orbit for more than couple months and will burn up (due to the lower earth orbit) but still, this could be a fun way to test your space technology.

For one, I can see myself equippin

NASA’s new Spacesuits look more like a Body-Builder!

Check out the new spacesuits (on the right) that NASA has been working on.  It definitely looks more like a body builder now when you wear one.

NASA just awarded its future spacesuit contract to Oceaneering International. The US firm must now design, test, and produce two suits — the default suit (pictured after the break) worn on-board for launch and landing and a second, more versatile, cheese-proof suit worn during space walks and upon the surface of the moon.
