If you have kids in your house and you like to etch your own PCBs, having too much of this toxic, etching solution is probably not a smart idea nor is it great for the environment everytime you wash it down the toilet (or sink).

Homemade DIY Wind Turbine!

These nice young folks in Ecuador have built their own homemade DIY wind turbine, looks awesome and what a great way to create energy!

We wanted to make a wind turbine from easy-to-find materials and using simple tools. The rationale for this is that the generator should be easily reproducible by anyone. This also meant making sure the Ecuadorians could find all the materials locally so they could easily remake it, should they want to (and they should!). Finally, we are not experts and do not have access to a super advanced machine shop, so keeping it simple (stupid) was the

MN Appliance Rebate gives Minnesota Residents upto $200 Rebate per Appliance!

Minnesota has just started their rebate program for Energy Star complaint appliances to promote energy saving statewide.

Of course, the energy savings over long term could easily pay for the fridge itself plus we are reducing our carbon footprint. It’s good to see that slowly state government is giving out money to promote green energy.

For those of you who have been waiting to get a new appliance, there ne

Skateboards are probably one of the toughest built sports gear out there (and probably the reason why skaters like to throw them up in the air for no reason).  Haroshi, a skateboarder and artist in Japan, has devised a way to make some great art using old skateboards.  I would have to say these are indeed works of art, definitely check it out here.

“As a skater, I want to take responsibility of reusing skateboards when they were no longer useable,” Haro

DIY Hybrid Motorcycle Gets 214MPG going 55MPH! [Eco]

http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/4/2010/01/500x_hyperhonda-2.jpg

As an avid motorcyclist, I don’t really worry about my gas too much as it gets as much as or better than most hybrid cars at 55MPG+, but this inventor decided to make motorcycles even more efficient by focusing on aero-dynamics.  Based on his studies, 90% of drag at 55MPH is caused by air, not your wheels.  So the above design was born, which gets 214MPG going 55MPH!

Now, I don’t see how I could ride that thing and look cool but I guess the point is about going far here.  T
