The other day, I bought HatCam so I can use it while snowboarding but was researching further because HatCam seemed to be a bit flimsy for snowboarding needs.  Anyways, after couple hours of researching online plus watching the video quality people uploaded on YouTube, I found the perfect camcorder for snowboarding, the GoPro HD.

video://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDRoKCAFtX8

Snowboarding is one of my most favorite sports. (too bad I didn’t go this winter) When you snowboard a lot, you know how much the wax (bottom of your snowboard) can get a bit ugly with scratches and whatnot.

I didn’t know that you can wax your own snowboards, I though it required a special waxing machine but it turns out you can wax your own snowboard with a decent household iron and some wax.

Well, I had the pleasure of jumping off some of the bigger jumps and did awfully well due to the fact that I have been snowboarding over 20 years, even some little kids were cheering me on.

Anyways, there’s couple lessons I learned over the years on how to jump (or nollie is it?) on a snowboard:

1. Learn to go very fast, if you can learn to balance your body while going fast, this will help you get a lot of speed into your jump without any problems.

To do this, you will want to practice on black diamond downhills a lot and going through lots of moguls can help too.

Winter DIY – How to Snowboard!

Well, it’s that time of the year and if you haven’t learned to snowboard, here’s some tips I’ve learned over the years that can help you snowboard better.

2. Once you master balancing, try turning with the slope and braking by turning back to 90 degree angle to the slope.

3. Once you have mastered balancing and turning, challenge yourself to go down steeper slopes.  If you never challenge yourself, you won’t get any
