Motorola i1 Launched!

Sprint launches their newest push-to-talk Android smartphone (in fact, first ever) at Sprint Stores nationwide.

The Sprint Motorola i1 comes with an Android 1.5 platform, multi-touch screen, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and 4X zoom, and on iDEN 800/900Mhz network.

The iDEN 800/900Mhz is a lot slower than Sprint’s 3G or 4G but this phone’s main feature it that you can use the push-to-talk feature to other phones with that capability.

The Motorola i1 has a battery life of 210 minutes under continuous use and 100 hours in standby-mode from its 1400

Apple Attacks Droid X Antenna with a “Death Grip”!

video://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9MA-Y_l5yQ

Recently, Apple attacked Droid X, posting a video on their YouTube channel showing the death grip on the Droid X.

Needlessly to say, it’s coming from Apple and they are still missing the most important point, that iPhone 4’s antenna reception problems happen when you only place a finger on the antenna gap.

Besides that, Apple is participating in deceptive acts or practices by manipulating the Dr

South Koreans “Not Happy” at Apple and Steve Jobs!

According to numerous Korean tech sites I have read through just now, South Koreans are very “unhappy” about the fact that Apple and Steve Jobs left out South Korea from its iPhone 4 launch.  While many other countries including UK customers have gotten hands-on the iPhone 4, South Korea has been left out, where it has a strong hold on smartphone consumers.

In addition, South Korea’s only iPhone provider KT, is having trouble explaining to customers when exactly iPhone 4 will be available.  KT is currently able to sell iPhone 3Gs 8GB versions, 16GB and 32GB are ha

Android Smartphones Outsell iPhone 4 Twice More!

According to recent news update on Fortune blog, Android smartphones are outselling iPhones by factor of twice or more per day.

That means that since the quater started for Apple 19 days ago, Apple has only sold around 70,000 iPhone 4s a day, less than half of the current Android activation rate.

I can actually see a day in the next year or two where Android smartphones are more popular devices due to its availability in many different networks and devic

Sprint Motorola i1 Push to Talk Android Phone Coming July 25th!

Sprint and Motorola will be launching the Motorola i1 soon, it’s the first, ever push-to-talk Android smartphone in the world (that I saw at CES 2010 earlier this year) and finally coming with Android 1.5 and aimed for business users who need to stay in constant contact.

The Motorola i1 will feature probably the first “rugged” touchscreen and made to withstand harsh environments.   If you have broken many smartphones before by dropping it or whatnot, this could be the phone for you as you get to enjoy all of the Android greatness while its rugged enough for

Letter to Steve Jobs from Senator Chuck Schumer – “FIX ANTENNA NOW!”

It was Consumer Reports first who reported that iPhone 4 clearly has hardware antenna reception problems, now Senator Chuck Schumer from New York gets in the mix by telling off Steve Jobs to fix the problem.

It shouldn’t be too long before President Obama gets into the mix as well, hopefully fix these consumer “issues”, people shouldn’t have to pay full price for a clearly defective product then Apple does *nothing* (*sigh*) about it.

Dear Mr. Jobs,

Samsung Galaxy S Sells over 300,000 Units in South Korea!

Samsung Galaxy S, which debuted in South Korea couple months back by Samsung in their home country, sold over 300,000 units.  This certainly is a good sign since South Korea is a small country (where I am from) and I would expect they would sell more of these units worldwide, especially here in the U.S. with the launch of T-Mobile Samsung Vibrant, Sprint Epic 4G, AT&T Samsung Captivate, and Verizon’s Samsung Fascinate, all of which are variants of the original Galaxy S Android smartphone.

Also note that the

Google Android App Inventor Builds Apps in Seconds!

video://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ADwPLSFeY8&feature=player_embedded

Google has launched their new Google Android App Inventor that allows non-programmers and alike to build apps without having knowledge of Java.

This is certainly a game changer for Android as now many more regular folks can join in the revolution of app invention, not just companies who have millions of dollars to invest on engineers.

It does look pretty revolutionary to me at first sight, as a Java engineer myself, I can appreciate what has been put into this new App Inventor.
