DIY HACK – “Propeller Clock” Mechanically Scanned LED Clock

How this clock works: A motor spins the “propeller”, and a small microprocessor keeps track of time and changes the pattern on seven LEDs with exact timing to simulate a 7 by 30 array of LEDs. It is an illusion, but it works nicely.

Check out this cool etch CNC.  Actually we were thinking of making this too, but since it’s already made, we can learn from it and make it quicker.  Awesome! 🙂

We’ve had a big share of broken laptops due to Beer and Vodka spills not too long ago. Here’s some tips about replacing your LCD on your broken LCD.

It helps to know your computer. If you don’t, do your research first. Some laptops have the LCD glued (epoxied) into the frame. In these cases it’s usually much easier to replace the whole cover. Most don’t have this problem though.
