Windows 8 Boots Up INSTANTLY!

Here’s a cool video of new Windows 8 that boots up instantly from a complete cold start after putting the battery out and in.

Let me just add that I literally went on a rampage about how Windows Vista sucked (and it did big time) but I have to give Microsoft some props on Windows 7 (which I love) and I think Windows 8 will be another great products too, keep up the good work guys.

After that, you should be able to run telnet under command prompt just fine.

Computex 2010 is one of the biggest consumer electronics show held in Taipei, Taiwan.  (You can register here is you want to go.)  I want to go and the airfare is pretty cheap at about $1000 round-trip, non-stop from SFO to Taipei but I don’t know if it’s really worth it.

Anyways, at Computex this year, starting June 1st, Acer, the company that makes a bunch of great laptops and desktops (I am actually writing this blog post on a cheap Acer desktop.), is launching the world’s first Chrome OS device.

Last night I had the pleasure of making my very first bootable Ubuntu USB flash drive.  The reason I made this new Ubuntu USB flash drive was because I wanted to have a real “portable” linux system that I can run everywhere.

Where, I got it up and running in just about 5 minutes (minus the fact that I had to download the ISO file).   Ubuntu 9.10 ran flawlessly on my ASUS UL30Jt laptop, everything worked out of the box, the wireless, graphics, sound, and even my volume keys!

Anyways, let me show you how to make your own bootable Ubuntu USB flash drive.  I will sh

Future on Ubuntu and Desktop Linux!

For many years I have been using both Windows and Linux, switching often between the two.  But for the last 3 years or so I have stuck mostly with Windows XP and Windows 7 as of its recent introduction to the consumer market.

Well, let me tell you I have good news, I decided to fully use my Ubuntu linux as main operating system.

Why Ubuntu Linux?

I’ve been testing with Ubuntu 9.10 since it came out couple month back (yes, I know there’s a beta 10.04, don’t be such a Ubuntuhead.), installed it on all of my desktops/laptops and even run in on Windows 7 under V
