Android Tablet Hack – How to Install GMail, GoogleMaps, and Android Market on Archos 5!

For those of you who got the Archos 5, there’s an easy way to install GMail, GoogleMaps, and Android Market onto your Archos 5.   I have no idea why Archos even decided to not put Google apps as default (as they are the highlight of getting an Android device) but no worries, just install it yourself in couple easy steps.

1. Update your Archos 5 to the latest firmware by downloading the latest firmware here.

2. Download the Recovery Image file of HTC’s R

Dell Streak Android Tablet Quick Video Review!

The guys over at CrunchGear were able to get a hold of Michael Dell, Dell’s founder, to get a quick glimpse of the new Dell Mini 5/Streak Android Tablet.

Android 2.1 Kicking Ass!

With recent news that Google Android phones have surpassed iPhone sales during first quarter, it’s no surprise Android 2.1 kicks ass again by showing that most Android phone users are now using Android 2.1.

Yup, you can start heading to BestBuy as of today to pre-order your own HTC Evo 4G!

BestBuy is now officially taking pre-orders at their stores. (not online)  With BestBuy, The Shack, and Sprint Stores launching the new 4G WiMax HTC Evo 4G smartphone, this is certainly going to be exciting.  We wonder how sales of HTC Evo 4G will do and probably will do pretty well, perhaps better than Verizon’s Droid, with Sprint/ClearWire 4G WiMax clearly a selling point over all other U.S. carriers.

Sprint’s HTC Evo 4G dubbed “superphone” by many because of its 4G WiMax capabilities and abilities to download HD content right onto your phone (plus you can use it as a 4G WiFi hotspot device) is officially coming to everyone in the U.S. on June 4th 2010.

I will actually show up an hour before my local store opens and try to grab one of the very first HTC Evo 4G superphones.

Android Takes Down iPhone for 2nd Most Popular Smartphone in the U.S.!

(Frustrated Jobs, wondering what went wrong, why did suddenly Android phones become more popular in the U.S.)

Just in, according to first quarter results for U.S. mobile market, Android takes down iPhone for the second most popular smartphone OS in the U.S.   While this is no big news with popularity of Droid, Nexus One, and other HTC branded Android phones that have flooded the market, it’s certainly going to mean more Android apps and growth for the Android, good news for all of you who have been using Android phones.

Nexus One Hack – Quake 3 Running on Nexus One!
