For those of you out there who do not care for smartphones with multi-touch touchscreen and mobile web browsing experience (for example, you are an artist in the woods), you might just like this new phone with large buttons and its simplicity might make you finally happier.
The Just5 Phone featured here is a one-of-a-kind cellphone that was made to do the most important things, allowing the user to dial buttons easily.
It’s certainly not for everyone but for those of you with big hands and poor eyesight, Just5 phone might actually make some sense in your life. I mean, a phone is supposed to make calls right?
On top of its simplicity and big, giant dial buttons, the Just5 phone features an “SOS” emergency button on the back which can be used in case of an emergency.
Upon pressing the SOS button on the back for about 3 seconds, your Just5 phone will automatically call up to 5 people you set and also text message those 5 people with a short message, “This is an emergency, please call back.”
The text messaging featured worked really well and my friend (who I put as one of my emergency numbers) called me right back after my first SOS call.
Also, if no one picks up your call, it will call 911 for you.
The Just5 phone is a great “practical” phone for those of you adventurers who like to take big risks. For example, you remember when James Kim’s family got stuck in snow? (and RIP James Kim.) Given that he had some cellular signal during the traumatic event, this phone could have helped.
If you live in countries where it snows a lot and maybe this phone could potentially be a life saver. Or maybe there’s many other applications for it.
Just5 phone is also great for the elderly who have hard time dialing numbers and the SOS feature could certainly be a life-saver in an emergency.
Of course, Just5 phone could still be a great choice even if you are not adventurer or elderly, perhaps you want to rebel against the latest innovations in the smartphone world, then this is the phone for you. Next time your friends pull out an HTC Evo 4G and iPhone 4, you can show them how much simpler your phone is.
And yes, it does FM radio flawlessly.
Lastly, in a world that moves so fast and so many much information being pushed through, it might just make sense to go the other way. Sometimes, it’s good to be able to clear your mind and Just5 I think does just that.
The Just5 Phone is available in Black, White, Gray, Orange, and White at Just5.com for $119.99 and works with any SIM card such as AT&T, T-Mobile, etc…etc…
