For those of you using Nvidia’s proprietary driver on Ubuntu and get the following error: Failed to parse existing file etc/X11/xorg.conf You can simply fix it by re-writing a new xorg.conf file using: sudo nvidia-xconfig then doing: gksudo nvidia-settings This will open up your nVidia settings, make changes, then choose “save to X config file” and that’s it.
