Be Careful With Your Car Full – Chose Your Phone Holder Wisely

Sat Navs are becoming more and more unnecessarily as better and better apps are made for smart phones that can do the same job. One thing you’ll still need to invest in, though, is a reliable car mount for your phone so that you can see the Sat Nav properly as you drive. With devices such as iPhones and Android devices getting larger and wider-screened, you’ll need a car holder that grips your phone tightly and safely.

The Dash Genie is being billed as the world’s first suction-based dashboard holder, and will cling tightly to the dashboard as well as holding on to the phone itself with a super-sticky Teflon circle. This makes it really simple to just stick the phone on and go, without any of that tiresome fiddling around, and has the added bonus of not leaving any annoying sticky residue on your phone. It’s cheap and effective and will let you position your phone anywhere you want, so you can get the optimum view of your SatNav app. It will hold your phone in landscape or portrait, but looks like it could be a little insecure for Android phones that slide open, so perhaps wouldn’t be quite suitable as an HTC HD2 car mount, for example, or a Google Nexus One.

For a holder that does a little more, there are tons of varieties available that will charge your phone at the same time as holding it in place. They’re normally a little more expensive, but can be found for most specific types of phone, for example the own-brand HTC HD2 Car Kit. For those that don’t want to shell out on own-brand, there are plenty of cheaper alternatives available.

What if you like the idea of being able to charge your phone on the go and hold it safely at the same time, but are geographically-savvy enough not to need a SatNav (or already have the real deal!)? A sound bet would be something like this Trailblazer car charger, which plugs straight into your cigarette lighter socket and keeps your phone stable and secure, whilst charging it up at the same time.

Whatever it is that you need from your car holder, there’s sure to be one available on the market that suits your desires and budget.
