Here’s a great idea to collect free rain water if you don’t have a gutter on the edge of your roof. The key component to this gutterless rain barrel is obviously the fact that you can basically collect “unlimited” amounts of rain water, just replace barrels when they are full. Brilliant idea!
I wanted to share instructions on how to build a “drain barrel” for those of you who may not have gutters on your house (bear in mind that this is a construction project that requires a bit of creativity). This project is most useful for those of us who have a clearly-defined gouge in our wood chips where the water pours off the roof.
