Here’s a rather fantastic hack job on an MSI Wind U100-641US netbook that has been literally turned into a homebrewed iPad by stuffing Hackintosh and some touchscreen plus iPad UI. (See details here)
Certainly, this could be a great option for hackers/modders out there who don’t want to shell out $499 for an iPad. Instead, build your own using a netbook, DIY touchscreen kit, and add Hackintosh+iPad UI.
It won’t look the same as a real iPad but the performance improvements certainly might be worth it.
