Steve Jobs takes another dollar (or bite) from his company Apple this year as his yearlong 2009 salary. Of course, don’t forget his company stocks are worth about $1.1 billion.
Also note this year Steve Jobs takes only $4000 in company expenses compared to last year’s $871K last year.
Apart from Steve Jobs being plain evil making iPods proprietary music format (instead of MP3) and that iPhones are “still” on AT&T’s network (Which I loathe), I think he is doing a great job of not taking much salary from Apple.
I’ve seen a handful of great businessmen do this, especially in times of hard economy, taking no salary from their own company. But really, I don’t see why Steve Jobs should do this, perhaps just for publicity?
Seriously though, Steve Jobs must be the lowest paid CEO of the Year!
SEATTLE — Apple Inc. Chief Executive Steve Jobs was paid his customary $1 annual salary in 2009, but Apple’s strength through a rough economic climate returned the value of his personal holdings in the company to pre-meltdown levels.
Jobs does not get a bonus or reimbursement for perks many other CEOs accept, such as personal security, according to a regulatory filing made Wednesday. Apple said it reimbursed Jobs $4,000 for company travel on his $90 million Gulfstream V jet, which he received as a bonus in 1999.
