Best Desktop Receipt Scanner Review!

Couple months earlier, I had written the “best receipt scanner” review.  Well, that should have read “the best portable receipt scanner”.

I actually recommended the portable version to one of my friends who’s running his own business but he bought the “desktop” version.

Glad to say, I check it out and basically, this desktop receipt scanner had practically replaced my friend’s bookkeeper.(LITERALLY!)

On top of being about to scan 10 receipts in just 1-2 seconds, the NeatDesk 698 Desktop Scanner does a whole lot more including scanning regular documents and business cards.

The greatest part about this desktop receipt scanner is that “everything” is pretty much automated including rotating the receipts so they look good, actually scanning the receipts to separate product sub-total, taxes, and the total.

Now it doesn’t end there, you can scan as many receipts as you want and they will “automatically” be organized according to the “type” of expense whether it’s a company meal or a donation to your local charity.  Plus, you have to option of getting the receipts stored as PDFs or other image formats of your liking.

Digitizing your tax documents is inevitable these days as it will save you time and money over the long run.  (Read my Tax Digitizing HOWTO here)

Having a machine do most of your tedius work of scanning the documents – priceless!

So if you are self-employed or run a small business, I highly suggest to invest in this desktop receipt scanner, it’s really going to save you a lot of time and also save the environment by cutting down on printed papers.
