Here’s a simple hack that shows you how easy it is to make an iPhone headphone/earphone extension simply by shaving off the extra plastic at the end of your extension cord. I find it hard to believe Apple “tried” to proprietize even their earphone plug, why couldn’t they make it so standard earphones would fit? Or is it a mistake, you tell me.
When I had just an iPod, this worked great. Now that I have an iPhone I found my standard 1/8″ to 1/8″ extension cable that I’ve had in my cable go bag wouldn’t work. There’s no way I’m going to spend upwards of $20 on an iPhone adapter cable to get around Apple’s design mistake.
