Asus has launched their 7″ digital photo frame which can also be used as a monitor. I told you people will start copying Samsung’s small LCD idea…
Asus has recently launched a new 7’’ digital frame, the UFOTO UF735. Our device features a 7’’ LCD screen in high-resolution (800×480), 128MB of internal memory, a USB 2.0 port, earphone jack. It supports CF/SD/MMC/MS/xD memory cards, and USB flash drives.
Innovation comes with its “sub-display” function which allows it to be used as a secondary display. With it you can perform secondary tasks, like Microsoft Messenger chat or view Akihabara News, while you’re working on your main monitor.

Nice emergency back-up monitor, but not really the ticket if you need a larger viewable area, eg for doing graphic design, etc. The sub-display function can serve to ease the load on your main monitor however, so no more going through a multitude of open windows to get to your IM service, for example. What is the cost of this digital photo frame vs a small LCD? What is the smallest commercially available LCD monitor?
