Looks like you can win $5000 for first place at the Game and Game World Championships 2007. Just don’t end up lookin’ like this guy. I know there are other tournaments you can win a lot more money… Then again, these guys get paid like at least 6 figures from their sponsors such as Samsung and all those cellphone companies in Korea. I envy these guys who can play games for a living and they are not even 20 yet…
This year’s competition will begin with European preliminary round started in August, followed by America and East Pacific Asia in September, and Japan in October. The final winners of each country will be selected to participate in the grand final held on December 1st in Seoul, Korea, and digital camera, MP3 player, and DVD player are provided to 2nd, 3rd winners of each regional match. Furthermore, the 1st place of the grand final will be awarded 5,000(USD), and 3,000(USD) for the 2nd place, and 1,000(USD) for the 3rd place. In addition, Korean tour program is prepared during this grand final period too, KIPA said.
