August 14th 2006 - Zedomax Celebrates 2 Year Anniversary Yey!

For what seemed like eternity, it has officially been 2 years since I’ve started a Wordpress blog.  Of course, my stats aren’t the greatest in the world but we are on a stable long-term rise.

As for Zedomax.com, here’s the stats in the last 2 years:

Total Page Loads(Views): 4,155,070 - Over 4 Million baby!

Total Unique Visitors: 2,776,614 - Not too shabby here.

Average Page Loads: 5,676

Average Unique Visitors: 3,793

It’s hard to believe that the website I’ve created at my previous job to market CUBLOC products has started life of its own and is feeding the author food/rent.  Of course, now I am glad that I am no longer working a 8 to 5 job, stuck behind a cubicle.

I am still stuck behind the computer as Zedomax.com isn’t making millions. (yet…LOL)

Oh well, there goes another 2 years of my life, all wasted away to blogging.

Goals for next year?

Well, goals are overrated.  I’d like to enjoy life and share what I find, that’s all.

Anyways, thanks goes to our latest sponsor, WonderHowTo.com and all the blogs/bloggers:

DaBomb.TV is on SALE at SitePoint!

Posted in AOL, Blog, Cool, Google, Social Networking, Web, Wordpress, Yahoo by max on the February 1st, 2008 at 10:27 pm

Yeah, don’t ask me why, I have to start selling all of my websites one by one because I need to keep making a living.

With the recent sales of Wagg. It, I have gone slightly depressed, but here’s another great sale of a great video blog site, DaBomb.TV.

You can go bid at SitePoint here. The bid will end in 7 days so let the high bidder get the site!

FYI, you are not just buying a website, you are also buying our free blog promotion from 20+ blogs/social networks AND we make sure it gets installed correctly on your server, plus we will give you free consultation until you can get it everything running smoothly.

The new site owner will still be part of our Zedomax Network, and benefit from free SEO, backlinks, and free blog posts from many PR4-PR5 blogs.

Go bid now and let me stay in this risky business of internet entrepreneurship.

Stumbleboy is afraid he’s only going to make $61.3 million in profits instead of $61.8 million?

Posted in Business, Business Ideas, Web, money by max on the January 30th, 2008 at 9:29 am

What’s StumbleUpon afraid of?3

In a recent encounter with StumbleUpon’s banning of 20 accounts in our network, we have conjured up a little bit of something we read in a book by Guy Kawasaki, “How to drive your competition crazy.” In the book, there’s an example of how Ben & Jerry’s turned a law-suit into an hilarious marketing victory.

Here’s our version on StumbleUpon’s latest diplomatic policies:

Do you think the Stumbleboy is afraid of two guys working in a rented apartment of 800 square feet?

Do you think the Stumbleboy is afraid he’s only going to make $61.3 million in profits instead of $61.8 million?

Do you think that maybe the Stumbleboy is afraid of the American Dream?

We only want to make the most fun site and let people of the internet make their choice on the internet, where guys like us can compete with guys like the Stumbleboy.

Next time you are surfing the web, uninstall that hideous looking 50 pixel StumbleUpon toolbar that takes up too much of your browser space and start using “extension-less” SiteHoppin. Because to tell you the truth, that’s what the Stumbleboy is really afraid of.

Our next goal, a blog about nothing!

Posted in Cool by max on the January 24th, 2008 at 10:13 pm

Okay, we sold Wagg.It for $2000 on SitePoint today, which is good since our $800 server fees were due today and I just had enough money to pay my rent. We will be okay for next month. We are just hopin’ that SiteHoppin’ takes off a little bit more but so far, so good for our efforts.

Our next goal is to turn Zedomax.com into a blog about nothing like John Chow’s blog. Why? Well, he’s makin’ like 25 grand a month! Well, we make like $800 a month. We got a long way to go but with your help spreading the word about SiteHoppin, that could happen. duh~

We tried too hard with not enough money or food. I’ve lost about 10 pounds last couple months just trying to cope with myself losing my job and whatever. At least, now I am free, totally free to be my own boss and take the time to take my girlfriend’s brother’s dog Za out for a jog everyday.

So, what the WTF?

Nothin’ This is a blog about nothing but stupid technology we have to deal with everyday. If you don’t visit Zedomax.com everyday, you will die the next day!!! Hahaha….LOL…

U know what I realize over the years?  Well, this is coming from the man who experienced it.  Nobody cares about you, especially how you are going to make a living everyday.

So how to beat this shi+?  Simply, beat your own life up everyday.  That’s right, you beat yourself, and you will be successful.   Beat yourself, and you will be SUCCESSFUL!

Yes, you are the only enemy of yourself and you are the only competitor of yourself.  If you don’t know that, read Guy Kawasaki’s book on “How to drive your competition crazy”.

DIY Wordpress HACK - Upgrade from WP-Cache and Get WP-SuperCache for your Wordpress Blog

Posted in Blog, Web, Wordpress by max on the December 9th, 2007 at 3:29 pm

I was moving Bedzine, Keetsa, Sleepzine, Mattresszine, and Wagg.It to another server the other day and my WP-Cache kept stallin’ on me so I looked up go Google for a newer version. I found WP-SuperCache which is simply built on top of WP-Cache. Basically, the difference between the two is that the WP-SuperCache also creates a permanent page for pages that have no comments. There are some functionalities such as Lock-Down to help your server from going down in case you get Digged, Stumbled, or Slashdotted.

BTW, don’t use Aplus.Net for dedicated hosting, they had a downtime of almost 5 days! That’s worse than any shared hosting I’ve tried. The funny part is that, all our websites were down but Aplus.Net’s homepage wasnt’t. It explains how they prioritize their customers below their revenue. I’ve had similar experience with Cari.Net, our current host. But when our sites when down, their homepage went down too. Which makes another reason for them to make sure their servers up again. The downtime with Cari.Net wasn’t more than couple hours so I figure it was time for switch to Cari.Net and stop dealing with Aplus.Net. (Think about the time I wasted in moving those websites, changing DNS for the domain names, trying to cope with the new server enviroment. It’s headache and I am glad it’s stopped and our servers are purring.) We’ve got 3 dedicated servers now to run all the websites, costing us an arm and a leg every month. Order a review and help us keep this site live.

Download WP-Cache here:

Download and Install

  • Remove any existing instances of WP Cache, as WP Super Cache is a drop in replacement. Don’t forget to delete the files wp-content/advanced-caching.php and wp-content/wp-cache-config.php.
  • Download the newest version of the WP Super Cache plugin from the WordPress.org plugin db and follow the instructions contained in the readme.txt file. If you have installed WP-Cache before this shouldn’t be any more difficult.
  • After installation, go to the WP Super Cache options page and set your desired cache time.

Contest - Win $500 worth of wiki pages at OneBuckWiki.com

Posted in Blog, Consumer, Contest, Cool, Web, Wordpress by max on the October 21st, 2007 at 2:06 am

We are having a contest for our newest site, OneBuckWiki.com. Basically, you have to submit more URLs than anyone else to Zedomax.Biz, which is a social network about making money online. Looks like John Chow is in the lead…again at 81! I’ve seen him sneaking on this new site to see if there’s any new users but the thing we realize with social networks is that it grows slow. But we’ve had some success one of our older niche social networking site, Wagg.It. Wagg It is basically like Digg except there wway less traffic and way less users in comparison. BUT it gives you free PR4 links when you submit something, which is a killer free deal for SEO marketers out there.

Also check out our shopping social network, MaKePoNo.com, which means “cheap” in Hawaiian, does have nothing to do with making porn….duh! read the letters carefull!

So, if you want to get hooked up with $500 worth of wiki pages you can sell down the road on e-bay for $1000, submit your money making blog posts here.

Dell Ubuntu

Posted in Business, Consumer, Cool, Earth, Educational, Entertainment, Linux, Ubuntu, Web by max on the May 2nd, 2007 at 6:50 pm

Dell Ubuntu

Cool, Dell is going to be supporting Ubuntu! This is a sign that Linux and open source movement are taking over the world soon not to mention the cool open source CMS softwares like Wordpress, Joomla, Pligg, etc…etc…  This is a surprise from the company that announced to not ship their products with Linux in the past.

Ever since we heard that Dell would ship computers with Linux pre-installed, we wondered which flavor it would be. It doesn’t really come as a surprise that it will be Ubuntu, which Michael Dell uses it on his home laptop.

The official announcement is expected anytime now, but we got the heads up from Ubuntu contributor Fabián Rodríguez. His post is down (thanks, Digg) but can be seen on Dugg Mirror.

DIY - How to build a boat!

Posted in Consumer, Cool, DoItYourself!, Educational, Entertainment, Gadgets, Industrial, Projects, Travel by max on the March 3rd, 2007 at 6:28 am

How to build a boat

How to build a boat 2

Yes, one of my personal goal in life is to own a boat some day but here’s how you can make one from scratch!

I was looking for a double ended rowing / sailing beach cruiser that two people could use for extended camping in semi protected waters. Ben Fuller brought this design to my attention. The boat is similar to a Swampscott dory but carries a bit more waterline, a rockered keel, a fuller hull section, and an external skeg. The boat features a kickup rudder, daggerboard, and an 86sq ft lug sail. I can’t wait to get this beauty on the water.
