NES Hacking - Another NES stuffed in NES Cartridge!

Posted in A+Featured DIYs, Consumer, Cool, Design, DoItYourself!, Entertainment, Gadgets, Games, Hack, NES, Projects by max on the September 24th, 2008 at 1:35 pm

Remember that one NES Cartridge that had the whole system embedded WITH an LCD?

Well, here’s a similar NES Cartidge except you can insert other NES cartridges too.

People are so smart these days, they are making NES 5-10 times smaller than its original size.

$21,000 Wheel Speakers!

Posted in A+Featured Gadgets, Consumer, Cool, Design, Entertainment, Gadgets, Speakers by max on the August 9th, 2008 at 10:26 am

Yes, this $21,000 wheel-like speakers will blow you off as I would never pay that much for speakers.

Unless they mass-produce this and bring the price down around $210 not $21K, it will remain in the hands of uber-rich snobs who rather throw away money on gadgets like this.

Designed by Ron Arad and Frances Pellisari for Austria’s Viteo, the Freewheeler produces high quality stereo sound indoors or out. The speaker measures in at about 22.8″ tall x 9.8″ wide, making it just about the same diameter as the tires on a Mazda MX-5 Miata (and about 2x as thick).

Chinese Nintendo Wii Clone - Rumdes V-Sports Game Console!

Posted in Consumer, Cool, Entertainment, Gadgets, Games, kids by max on the August 6th, 2008 at 5:25 pm

Chinese Nintendo Wii Clone - Rumdes V-Sports Game Console!

As bad as it sounds, the new Chinese Nintendo Wii dubbed, “Rumdes V-Sports Game Console“, may pick up in sales real soon as it’s 1/3 cost of a Wii unit.

My thoughts on the Chinese Wii?

Well, it looks pretty good enough.  My only concern is that everything is copies/copied for people in China.  I mean, will they ever get the real stuff???

Besides that, this game console looks pretty cheesy but fun.   I want to get this so I can play some Wii-like games without paying for one.

Mario Toys made out of Sheep’s Wool!

Posted in Consumer, Cool, Design, Toys, kids by max on the July 2nd, 2008 at 4:00 pm

Mario Toys made out of Sheep\'s Wool!

Mario Toys made out of Sheep\'s Wool!

Here’s some Mario toys made out of sheep’s wool that can warm your body temperature when you hold them.

Of course, they are not super-friendly to chewing, biting, or anything you are not supposed to do with them.  (Yes, that means don’t buy one for your dog/cat)

Specializing in natural dolls and toys, each doll is lovingly hand made of natural materials and are great for imaginative play. The dolls are all double sewn for best quality and are stuffed with 100% sheep’s wool which will retain the body heat of one who holds them close. Have a look at all the different toys available and if there’s something you’d like made special feel free to contact me as custom orders are always welcome.

DIY Remote Controlled Tortoise(or Turtle?) Robot!

Wow, this is kinda nifty robot.  It’s an RC controlled tortoise(or turtle) that does absolutely nothing but go really slow.

R/C Tortoise is a very simple r/c tortoise “bot” with direct control, using a 4 channel radio system.
It uses 4 sub micro servos, and each axis of the transmitter stick controls a servo.

Sqish - Camouflage Satellite Dish!

Posted in Consumer, Cool, Design, Entertainment, Gadgets, Industrial by max on the June 23rd, 2008 at 11:30 am

Sqish - Camouflage Satellite Dish!

Here’s a funny satellite dish that is in a rectangular shape.  I am not sure how effective it is compared to a regular ol’ satellite dish but it does look like a great substitute.

The Sqish is a quirky contemporary alternative to a
satellite dish.

What does it do?

The Sqish can can be aimed at mid and high powered satellites including Astra, Hotbird and Eurobird. It can be used to receive Sky and Freesat in the UK.

Super Mario 1-Up Beer Mugs for Oktoberfest!

Check out the 1-Up Beer Mugs.  Although these are not available to buy, looks really cool especially if you are a Super Mario Brothers fan.

On the side note, I will have to get some real German sausages for this year’s Oktoberfest.
