iPod Touch 2G Hands On over at Engadget!

Well, it seems like the iPod Touch 2G is officially ready for the masses.
The main difference between iPod Touch 1G and 2G is that the 2G version is much more thinner with a glossier finish while holding much larger data storage of 32GB or 64GB.
I would buy the new version for the extra storage space but don’t know if anything else has really changed enough to be better.
The WiFi antenna looks much better integrated, the speaker doesn’t sound like complete trash despite not even having any speaker holes, and the thing is crazy thin. Like, really, really thin.

Sony VAIO Wi-Fi Digital Photo Frame will read RSS Feeds!

If you happen to be a Sony VAIO laptops lover, you need to check out their new VAIO Wi-Fi Digital Photo Frame that is also capable of reading RSS Feeds with a resolution of 800×480.
Features: 7″ display with 800×480 resolution projecting over 16 million colors, Wi-Fi enabled (802.11b/g), 128MB hard drive, Memory Stick®, Secure Digital™ and Compact Flash slots, projects RSS feeds from the web and built-in MP3 player
What I like most about this Sony WiFi Digital Photo Frame is that it can read online RSS Feeds so you can setup your own RSS Feeds from your photos and websites. (For how to add RSS Feeds to your digital photo frame, looky here.)
I really think that the next step in digital picture frame resolution is RSS Feeds that will automate the process of uploading any photos.
With WiFi digital photo frames that can read RSS Feeds (I think most Wi-Fi frames do this now), you no longer need any photo storage space, just a good WiFi connection which most homes have these days.

Caravan Pod is a Portable Mini-RV!

Caravan Pod is a portable mini-RV that looks like peas to be attached to the rear of your vehicle. With 12 volts of DC powering the pods, you have basic amenities available to you.
It seems a little dangerous for anyone to actually be inside while the pod is being towed but does provide enough “modern” comfort for those short week-long trips to Burning Man.
Overall, I think these will become more popular if they could make it affordable for your everyday working man/woman.
These Caravan Pods are collapsible and can fit into standard car parking spaces. They are designed to be cool city-getaway for young professionals, while being light enough to be towed by small cars. The Pods are divided into two compartments, The Comfort Pod which provides seating and sleeping space for two adults, with a 12 volt power supply and audio system and the Service Pod offers a water system, power supply and storage space for personal items.

Desk-in-a-box!
Hand Ladder Truck!

Here’s a nifty hand ladder that acts as both a ladder and a hand truck.
he 2-in-1 Ladder/Hand Truck.
Unlike traditional step ladders, this unit easily converts to a heavy-duty hand truck, combining two indispensable household tools in one, while taking up half the storage space of keeping both items at hand. The strong, durable aluminum frame supports 300 lbs. as a ladder and 250 lbs. as a truck, while the oversized polypropylene steps provide sure footing. Rated for “Industrial-Heavy” use, the ladder-truck has a padded foam handle, 4″ rubber wheels, and light overall weight make transport more comfortable, and its compact folded depth (6 1/2″) ensures simple, compact storage.
Integrated Desk with embedded PC and Fold-Away Monitor

Wow, check this integrated desk with embedded PC and fold-away monitor! Great concept, maybe Apple might go for something like this.
It’d be even better if you could do “dual-monitor” setup.
Besides being absolutely beautiful, this Sync Desktop concept from designer Gareth Battensby features a fold-away widescreen monitor and keyboard, a built in USB hub, scanner, mouse, webcam, easy-to-access DVD unit, and plenty of storage space. And because it is all seamlessly integrated into the design, the Sync can be converted into a standard desk for other projects whenever necessary. The only problem is that I doubt that it could ever become a commercial product unless there was a way to upgrade the hardware.
