Are you tired of your regular ol’ headphones?  Here’s a great DIY showing you how to make Steampunk Headphones.

To construct this headset, I started with items commonly found at home improvement stores. I wanted to use mostly copper or brass parts, at least for the parts that are exposed. Unfortunately, copper and brass are heavy (compared to plastic). I use a headset frequently so I didn’t want to end up with something too heavy. The end look has an industrial flavor because of the holes drilled to lighten it. Although, I still think it fits in the Steampunk genre.

Steampunk Cufflinks!

Steampunk Cufflinks!

Aww God!  It’s steampunk cufflinks I will never wear!

Brand new style! I am so pleased with how these turned out. Vintage lucite magnifying cabochons were set over old letters and genuine brass watch gears, and then sealed on the back with lacquer. Then everything was placed into gold framed cuffinks and the final effect is really stunning. Everything shifts and changes as you turn them back and forth. Don’t wear them to any important meetings - no one will be able to concentrate on what the boss is saying because all eyes will be on YOU!

Wow, this is like the binary watch but better!

This one is called the Geomesh. It has brushed gunmetal finish with a grid face and 27 LEDs. You can choose between the multi-colored LED, All-blue LED and all-white LED version of the watch. The illuminated vertical LEDs indicate the hours white the horizontal ones indicate minutes in 5s or in 1s.

Maybe its steampunk

This is the Vulcania, one of only eleven made, they are so rare that they do not even publish the price.

Telling the time is as normal with this watches pretty difficult but I suppose it is one of those things that you get used to, and once mastered it would probably become second nature, however this watch reminds me of an old gothic type movie for some reason.

Mp3 gets a steam punk finish

Posted in Audio, Consumer, Cool, Funny, Gadgets, Music, Steampunk, mp3 by david on the November 27th, 2007 at 6:00 am

I like steam punk stuff, but this is not one of the better ones, but the good thing about it, is the fact that the mp3 unit was actually found on the ground outside a bus station, which means if the designer had not recycled it into this it would have then been added to the land fill.

It is hard to describe something like what Khan wore on his wrist in the second Star Trek movie, but for just an mp3 player isn’t this going a little over the top or maybe not, most of the parts have been recycled too so at least they did not even end in the trash.
