DIY - Ultimate Night Vision Headlamp - Night golfer’s tools for putting
Here’s a cool DIY on how to make your own night vision headlamp. Well since I don’t really go to caves, I don’t really need one but I’ve always been thinking of making a useful night light for putting on the putting green at my local public golf course, Lincoln Park. This would be great as I’d be able to putt and follow my ball with simple twist of my head…
Gadgets from Target for $29.99
Today, I went on a Target shopping spree this weekend for a little while to buy some stuff and found some cool gadgets…
Here are the 3 cool stuff I found:
This seems to be a very useful gadget for many laptop users as it cools and also serves as a buffer between your laptop and your lap. I find it very useful since I always order customized laptops from HP and their customized laptops always seemed to run very hot. (You could probably fry some eggs…something close to frying an XBOX)
Here’s some cool links on laptop coolers:
Antec laptop cooler has a nice alien looking design…

Atari Flashback is a game console for your TV for Atari fans that only steals $29.99 out of your wallet. It seems that a lot of retro-video game consoles are picking up lately. I do agree that with so much technology out there, sometimes you want something simple, even if the graphics aren’t as up to par. While we are talking about pars and birdies, you can check out the below $29.99 TV console game machine for some golfing pleasures…

I couldn’t find the link at Target’s website but here’s one from walmart.
GolfTee is another cool $29.99 game for your TV. I remember playing this game at golf course bars, pizza parlors, but now you can have it in your living room for under 30 bucks! nice…
It seems that Target also has a life-size version for like $500.

The other day, Garrett hit up on some basic POVs.
So we were thinking about how we could have a POV while making it useful. Well since people like to hit up the driving range or the golf course at times, we figured we could just make a POV out of a golf club. At the same time, we can make it kinda useful too.

ZikiWiki - Technology wiki for hackers, diyers, mcu users, plc users, etc…
ZikiWiki is a technology wiki I created for technology. Well, right now I am just posting some stuff for my work but hopefully, it will get bigger and bigger and become a free useful tool for diyers, hackers, engineers, and etc…
Right now it’s in beta testing period, so if you need a place for your information organization, this might be a good place to start.
I thought about how restricted wikipedia was becoming, it’s like a free place that’s not free anymore, but here’s a wiki that is free, at least for now.
Getting ready for Snowboarding this winter
Here’s a cool little article explaining different type of snowboards if you are planning on a long-term snowboarding sessions like me.
I remember last year when I was buying my second snowboard, I was confused as heck at the local sports shop…
My personal choice is Burton…
Funky Futuba Robot
Here’s a cool robot like the Robonova with lots of fast movement.
Futaba reportedly plans to sell its new Futuba Robot worldwide for just $1,200 each. The 10-inch tall humanoid robot uses 11 high torque servos and 9 lightweight servos for the upper body for SUPER-FAST MOVEMENT.
The robot kit takes two hours to build, and will come with 15 pre-programmed moves or use an included motion editor to build their own. Here comes the VIDEO!
Entertainment Fitness - Play tetris with weights!
Here’s a cool workout system while playing tetris! Hmmm… it would be cool if you could make it wireless though…
or maybe a 2 player game with ability for each player to send the other player blocks and maybe it increases the weights…
Who says you can’t get buff playing video games? Here’s a clever Tetris weightlifting project using Phidgets infrared distance sensors and an open source Tetris clone (source and control software included) - Tim writes… “For many people, exercise is simply boring, so they turn to devices that can help them keep their minds off what they’re doing while they exercise. Entertainment fitness uses technology to engage users rather than distract them. Tetris Weightlifting is a prototype entertainment fitness system that allows players to lift weights as the means of control for a modified version of Tetris. User testing with the device suggests great potential for combining casual games with exercise activity. The controls for Tetris weightlifting are relatively simple. Users hold two handle grips while seated. Each grip has a button that can be used to rotate pieces. Pulling a handle moves a piece in the associated direction”
DIY Circuit - Heart Rate Monitor
Here’s a cool DIY circuit that you can make.
It’s a heart rate monitor that you can use for your next golf outing or jogging.
One day whilst walking through the town centre in Manchester (probably on the way to Maplin!), I came upon a heartbeat measuring machine - here, you had to place a finger into a “thimble”-like sensor, and hey presto, your hearbeat was measured and shown on a large LED display! Back then, I only had a very vague idea as to how something like that actually worked, but after looking in magazines, and tinkering around, I came up with a small circuit.
