DIY - How to “Listen” to Microsoft and Yahoo stocks DROP!
Well, here’s a fun visualization for Microsoft(MSFT) and Yahoo(YHOO) stocks dropping. Well, bad economy isn’t something we can change right now, but hey, take it easy, sometimes things go down and they will go up eventually.
I am just glad I took my money out from the stock market about 6 months ago, it’s just too volatile for me, I will stick to blogging for now.
The source code is included in the DIY page so you can probably do the same thing to others stocks like Google(GOOG) or somethin’.
iPhone Hack - How to Make an iPhone Stand using Paper Clips!

Here’s a guy who managed to come up with an iPhone stand out of paper clips. He’s even providing printable sketch sheet for those of you who want to make one.
It looks pretty simple, brilliant idea. They could sell these with different colors of paint or somethin’
Get the template here. Print it out with your favorite PDF reader. Be sure not to stretch the document. If you have a ruler, do a reality check to make sure the document didn’t get resized when printed. When the paper clip is straightened out, it should be the same length as the grey line in the template. A pair of pliers will make your job a lot easier.

Bill Gates and Seinfeld TV Commercial!

Remember Microsoft hired Seinfeld to do advertising for their new $300 Million campaign?
Here’s the new Bill Gates and Seinfeld TV commercial which I did get to see yesterday for the first time and looks like bunch of people uploaded it to Youtube.
First look tells me that this ad really sucks in comparison to Apple. There’s not enough “juice” going on to even understand what they are advertising. (Good advertising should be funny even with the sound off, try watching this ad without sound, it’s BORING!)
Bill Gates will have to do a lot better than this. It would be cool if he was skydiving or somethin’ with Jerry Seinfeld and then Bill Gates gets squashed by Seinfeld on landing.
Skateboard Bastardized! - If you can’t Nollie, it ain’t a skateboard, call it somethin’ else!

Check out some of these “bastardized” versions of the traditional regular ol’ skateboard.
In my opinion, they are great but they shouldn’t be called skateboards if you can’t nollie on them.

Scientists now can control Insect Movement!

Wow, this is something that could get out of hand like a scary movie. What if someone evil controlled like 100 million beetles or somethin’? Scary…
DARPA’s goal is to create cyborg insects that can fly at least 100 metres from their controller and land within 5 metres of a target, then stay put until commanded to buzz off again. How the insects will be guided to a target is yet another unresolved problem. “There were a bunch of ideas,” says Charles Higgins at the University of Arizona, who was involved in DARPA’s original brainstorming session for the HI-MEMS project. One was to use radio control to guide the moth, though that would mean emitting radio signals, which could be detected by the enemy. A second was to use GPS signals to guide the insect to its goal, and a third was to point the moth in the right direction and send it off with a pre-programmed series of instructions - for example, fly straight for 50 metres, then circle.
Water Catcher Umbrella, Brilliant!

Check out this water catcher umbrella concept. From the picture it seems like you can even plant the whole thing to grow some plants.
Well, I think if they can further take their idea into using the water as stabilization for the umbrella itself or make it steam out during a hot day, that’d be somethin’.
As you can see from the design there is a dip in the centre of the canopy where the water is directed, the material is specially made from compostable polylactic acid plastic blends, it is this that drives the water into the hollow rod, which has a carbon filter within.
So as the rain water washes over the canopy and down the rod, it is filter through the carbon. All that is required now is any plastic drinking bottle which can be fixed onto the handle and removed when full. It may not be quick, but it is better than wasting the rain water.
Zedomax.Net Web Traffic Services - Buy 300 to 500 visitors of Web Traffic from Us!
Hey, now we are offering web traffic services on Zedomax.Net. We can bring you about 300 to 500 extra visitors per day. You can see an example of it on Mike’s post on Bloggin-Ads. How much? Just $200 for a month. You try it for 1 month and if you don’t get at least extra 10,000 visitors, we will refund your money.
If you need a jump start for your new blog or online e-store, we could probably do it free. But if you want us to do it right so you get residual traffic, paypal us $200 at max [at] zedomax.com and shoot us an email of your website URL. We will try to keep it low in the beginning, maybe something like $200 per month. That’s about 2 cents per visitor at 300 visitors per day. Not too shabby if you can’t figure out how to get traffic to your site. We will even add you to blogroll on Zedomax.com as an extra bonus. (That’s over 6000 pages of SEO links!)
DIY Linux DoS HACK - HOWTO Limit your the max number of TCP connections to your Web Server!
I have been reading the following book called, Linux Server Hacks, which shows you many ways you can hack your Linux server so your server doesn’t die.
This actually works since we just had a DoS attack about 5 minutes ago. (It seems like we are getting more and more DoS attacks these days. You can refer to the DDOS Deflate script also)
Here’s HACK #47 I read about last week in my bath room from the book and I just used it to prevent DoS attackers from bringing my precious Quad-CPU dedicated server down.
Enter the following commands and you will limit number of TCP connections to your server to 12 connections per second after 24 connections have been seen. (It means that no matter what, your server will not try to serve more than 12 visitors during one second of period when your server gets digged, farked, stumbled, or whatever)
iptables -t nat -N syn-flood
iptables -t nat -A syn-flood -m limit —limit 12/s —limit-burst 24 -j RETURN
iptables -t nat -A syn-flood -j DROP
iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i $EXT_IFACE -d $DEST_IP -p tcp –syn -j syn-flood
I think you can increase the values steadily if your server can handle more. But it seems to have brought our server load from 33.00 somethin’ to under 1.0. Yey!
If you are a hacker, sorry dude. You are gonna have to try a little harder hacking Zedomax since we are hackers too.
P.S. You know what I try to do when I find out where the hackers are coming from, I do a DoS attack back on them. This usually pisses them off enough to DoS me more but I kinda enjoy the battle so bring it on! :p
OneBuckWiki sells over 1000 pages in 2 weeks since its Launch!
Hi All,
Here’s a shameless promotion for our new sites:
As you well know, we have been creating lots and lots of cool and sometimes funky websites but OneBuckWiki might be the site we have hit on somethin’.
We’ve sold over 1000 pages within 2 weeks since its launch! Anyways, you can still get a deal for pages. If you want a free page, let me know at zedomax [at] gmail.com.
We want to hook up our readers with some free pages since we’ve got inifinite inventory.
You can also check out our other creation FiveDollarWiki too.
One of our new sites we built for fun, OneBuckWiki, has sold over 1000 web pages within 2 weeks since its launch on October 12th. The great phenomenon seems to rise from the fact that pages can be bought for only one dollar. Many eBay users have been buying up pages in a frenzy, with some users buying 100 pages at a time.
Pages are now worth $10 each and sold for $10 each and people seem to be still interested as prices of the pages go up to another $10 when we have sold 2000 pages.
In the meanwhile, you can grab $5 pages at FiveDollarWiki, which will go for $50 once we have sold 1000 pages.
