Check out this cool Multi-Touch Multimedia device. This could be a cool combination of touch, sound, and video for future video game controls.

MultiTouch is the ability of an input controller to detect multiple fingers simultaneously. Multitouch input devices are just starting to be seen in the real world, rather than just in the movies (the most famous being “Minority Report”). MAKE magazine has even declared them the The Future of Interfaces.

For Maker Faire 2007, I propose to demonstrate a variety of graphical, musical, video, and browser-based applications that I’ve developed that show some of the unique capabilities of use of MultiTouch controllers. Below is a picture of the custom controller I’ve built containing 3 Fingerworks iGesture pads (each capable of detecting multiple fingers simultaneously with excellent resolution and responsiveness), and a JLCooper CS32 with lots of sliders and buttons for additional control.

DIY PHOTOGRAPHY - Collapsible Light Tent

Posted in Consumer, Cool, DoItYourself!, Educational, Entertainment, Graphics, Projects, photography by max on the May 5th, 2007 at 9:43 pm

Collapsible Light Tent

Wow, we’ve seen a lot of light boxes and tents for photography floating on the internet before but here’s a “collapsible” light tent that might actually be useful and easy to store simultaneously.

Ever wanted to take pictures of small items around your house and make them look like it was done at a studio? It’s possible with some items around your home and a trip to your local craft store. It’s going to cost you around $15 but its money well spent. If you were to order a similar setup from a photography store, your looking to spend near a $100.

Cool a can, bottle, or wine in 1 minute! Wow, this is freakin’ great for beers.  This thing is 90 times faster than your fridge and 45 times faster than your freezer at cooling your beverages.

Patented process chills by rotating the beverage while simultaneously spraying it with ice water. Will chill a 12 oz beverage can from 77 degrees to 43 degrees in about 1 minute. The process does not alter any beverage property like taste, composition, or cause carbonated beverages to fizz over of explode upon opening
