Lol… here’s Robo Vacuum for your desk.  Robo Vacuum will suck and clean all your debris on your desk.  This is a great alternative to having a Roomba, which would be too big for any desk anyways.

Wow, check out this Oil Roomba that will clean up any oil spills. Get bunch of these together and they look like ants!

There are some new bots called OSP on the drawing board. Using advanced robotics, these guys autonomously work together to contain an oil spill by surrounding it with an inflatable barrier. Once contained, clean-up crews can jump in and suck the oil out.

Designer Ji-hoon Kim, must have come up with this idea after cleaning his house with bunch of Roombas…

Check out this cool Roomba that can shoot continuous soft BBs to the target which it tracked through it’s laser sighting.

This is a current project of mine, hacking a Roomba Red. After seeing all the roomba hacks on MAKE and Hack A Day I really wanted to build my own bluetooth controlled roomba. What really finally motivated me was seeing all the different projects on TodBots site. I have an Arduino and have been wanting to learn Processing, this is my chance to do all three! For my first project I figured that I could use the camera off of the Sonarbot and find a video to usb converter for my laptop. Quick and easy remotely operated robot on the cheap.

Okay, I’ve finally been able to stay away from the computer thanks to my girlfriend. But we are back for some more hacks and DIYs.

Check out these cool solar lawnmower robots and mop robot if you don’t want to spend $200 on a Roomba. You could probably make these inventions a little bit smart by adding a programmable controllers such as CUBLOC or Make controllers… Arduino would be good too.

Solar Lawnmower robot: tired to cut your grass? you have just to press a button and the robot do the job for you. Once the job done and the robot stopped, it’s internal battery is solar charged: no cost. The solar lawnmower robot is very quiet and make about the same noise as an electric razor!

-Mop robot: tired to use mop to wash your floors? Throw away you mop: use mop robot, add a bit of water, some liquid soap and just press the button: the robot is stupid, slow but it does the job alone and quietly.

Today at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, iRobot publicly released its latest product, the iRobot Create, “a programmable robot for entertainment and education. The base of the Create is similar to the Scooba, the company’s floor-mopping robot, and the carpet-vacuuming Roomba. It comes with wheels, motors for movement, and sensors that prevent it from tumbling downstairs or getting mired in corners.
