Porsche Supercup series in Rain!

Posted in A+Featured Auto, Auto, Cars, Consumer, Cool, Entertainment, Travel, Video by max on the September 13th, 2008 at 9:15 am

Here’s some fun Porsche racing for this weekend. Watch the vid and see how many drivers skid out of contention.

And now they race in the Porsche Supercup series, where they wonder what would happen if you put a couple dozen race-tuned, rear-engined 911s on a rain-soaked grand prix track and told their drivers that there’s a prize waiting for them at the finish line. Follow the jump to see what happened.

Special Coating makes your Gadgets and Cellphones Waterproof!

Posted in Consumer, Cool, Gadgets, Industrial, Video, cell phones, technology by max on the August 8th, 2008 at 11:20 am

Special Coating makes your Gadgets and Cellphones Waterproof!

WOw, here’s some new coating technology that’s going to be available soon to protect all your gadgets from water.

Of course, most of the time, your gadget will do fine even after water-submersion, but this coat pretty much makes your gadget water-resistant for hours!

I am not going to explain it, it’s probably better if you watched the video here.

Golden Shellback coating has an excellent ability to repel oils, synthetic fluids, hazardous materials, dust, dirt and water based solutions. Low surface tension values, such as water and oils will bead and drain freely from coated surfaces. The process produces a uniform, continuous, near hermetic coating that resists rain and humidity. Electronics casually exposed to water continue to work even after exposure. The coating is readily applied and not generally considered to be removable. Repairs are made using abrasive methods.

Light Bench lights up your night!

Posted in Consumer, Cool, Design, Furniture, Gadgets, LED, lights by max on the July 1st, 2008 at 6:00 pm

Light Bench lights up your night!

If I had a million dollars, I’d make sure to get these light-up benches for my outdoor patio.  (which of course if protected by overhanging canvas from rain)

Better yet, add some solar panels and make it solar powered.

The bench is suitable for indoor and outdoor, and is weather resistant and rugged. Several benches can be combined together for a more dramatic look. It operates by an individually pre-programmed remote control that is simple and intuitive to use. Almost an art object, the Light Bench creates the right presence in creative and communicative environments.

DIY Cardboard Bicycle for 30 Bucks!

Cardboard Bicycle for 30 Bucks!

If you ride in the rain, we don’t recommend the DIY Cardboard bicycle that costs $30 to make but if you do live in a hot country, this cardboard bicycle might save you some dollars and help re-use some of that leftover cardboard.

Phil Bridge, 21, of Stockport, Greater Manchester, believes his “ultimate green machine” will be cheap enough to attract occasional users while also deterring thieves.

The frame, made out of cardboard normally used in industrial packaging, could be produced for as little as £3.

Once the wheels and chain had been added the total price might rise to only £15.

DIY HACK - Umbrella Squirt Gun!

Umbrella Squirt Gun!

Umbrella Squirt Gun!2

Yey, it’s been rainin’ crazy here in San Fran. I saw 2 car accidents right in front of my apartment. But here’s a great way to make use of your umbrella and turn it into a “fun” device.

This unique, funnel shaped umbrella harnesses the flow of rainwater down into its handle, a water pistol. The user can fire at will, maintaining a constant flow of water as long as rain continues to fall.

Grab yourself a piece of the Titanic

Posted in Cool, Industrial, Watches, retro by david on the December 13th, 2007 at 6:00 am

Now this is very strange, as you can plainly see its watch, but it doesn’t look it little rusty to you? Well it should do, because before the metal was retrieved it was lying at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean and has been there since 1912!

titanic watch

Yes folks this is said to be made from a genuine piece of the ill fated ship, just a few pieces of like the front and hands are made from the Titanic, the rest is made from titanium and blackened steel.

There is no price for this yet, and I suppose that there will be those who are for it and those who are against it, I personally think it looks like a new watch that has been left outside in the rain for a while.
