Here’s Laptop news Roundup for today:

Dell will be releasing their Studio 15 soon, the HD-equipped laptop will come with nice subwoofers which I am having a hard time believing there will be much bass if any.

Gateway has their new laptop line, the TC7306u and TC7307u series. I am not a fan of Gateway laptops but who knows, they might make a come-back soon.

Dell is tinkering with Arm processors for low power, Linux laptops. It’s a good thing but I am not sure if ARM processors are fast enough yet for laptops. They have been traditionally used for PDAs and bunch of embedded devices.

ASUS announces their newest Eee PC equipped with WiMAX, a smart move.

Freescale, the manufacturer of many CPU devices, is planning an Android-powered laptop, very similar to the Movit device we saw earlier.

Samsonite showcases their new laptop case L35 XL, check it out.

iPhone 3G Lawsuits Popping Up Everywhere!

I keep banging this site about how badly iPhone or iPhone 3G is advertised. Of course, most phones do the same thing and could be called “deceptive advertising” but in this case, it’s Apple for christ-sakes.

If they have to lie to consumers on their ads, there’s enough people to get mad enough to sue Apple.

I completely agree that Apple needs to reimburse customers for the slow AT&T 3G speeds and also for false advertising.

Even if 99% of people in the world don’t care, it’s plain and pretty easy to prove that iPhone 3G maybe one of the slowest PDAs out there.

Only if Steve Jobs decided to go with Sprint or Verizon, these lawsuits could have been avoided.

I foresee only more trouble for the iPhone 3G for the next couple months. Steve Jobs hyped the “3G” speeds and features, yet consumers report back 3G as slow and not worth the extra features.

Don’t get me wrong, I love Apple’s products, just not their deceptive advertising which happend of lately.

For those of you who have hard time navigating the iPhone/iPod Touch using your fingers and leaving nasty fingerprints that you have to clean constantly, there’s a Stylus solution called the Pogo Stylus.

With the Pogo Stylus, you will be able to use the iPhone/iPod Touch just like any other PDAs. The only downfall is that once you start typing with the stylus, it will take you 2-3 times longer to type the same thing… Kinda pointless gadget but can be useful if you have clumsy, big hands.

I know, the iPhone is getting really old lately since everyone I know has one now. BUT, we can still laugh at all the stupid hacks you can do to the iPhone.
Check out how you can unlock the iPhone by cloning the SIM card. This might actually be useful for any cellphones that use a SIM card.

Senad, who has previously been heavily involved in the Digital Satellite scene and worked in many projects for Digiturk Cryptoworks, revealed to us that the hack is very real and can be accomplished using a simple simcard reader/writer and software. The Sim-Clone hack enables people to use all the functionality of an iPhone in Europe, with both incoming and outgoing calls, as well as SMS and edge internet. ‘It was only a matter of time’, said Senad, known by the online hacker community as ‘Deepdark’.

P.S. On the sidenote, the iPhone is SLOW! It’s on GSM network and so much slower than Sprint or Verizon. My suggestion is wait until Apple decides to switch to CDMA or at come up with a faster broadband technology. On average, using cellphone speed test, the iPhone came up about 4-5 times slower than my Blackberry and Samsung PDAs. If you want, I will prove it to you with a video…(well I bet there’s a bunch on Youtube already, let me find some…)
