Get Laid at the Apple Store

Get Laid at the Apple Store

Apple Store has been officially designated as a place to meet for young people. Wow, I’ve been in the Apple Store like every week and didn’t know this?!?

Most guys are natural gadget lovers, and with sales of iPods and MacBooks skyrocketing, more men than ever are stopping by Apple boutiques. The vibe at the stores is conducive to man meeting too: You can check your email among cuties, take a free workshop on anything from Photoshop to podcasting (a great opportunity to strike up a conversation), or just survey the, ahem, good-looking merchandise.

Hackers Use SaaS To Auction FTP Passwords, Inject Code

Posted in Business, News, Yahoo by max on the February 28th, 2008 at 8:19 pm

Here’s some hackers auctioning off FTP passwords of top 100 sites on Alexa.

The software uses an eBay-like trading interface to qualify the stolen accounts in terms of the country where the server is located and the Google page ranking of the compromised server. Cybercriminals use the information to set a price for the compromised FTP credentials so they can be resold to other cybercriminals or adjust an attack on more prominent sites. The software also allows cybercriminals to use the FTP credentials to automatically inject HTML IFrame tags into Web pages on the compromised server.

Microfiber fabric = electricity ???

Wow, check out this Yahoo news that microfiber fabric might produce electricity. We might just be able to start generating electricity everytime we move a finger!

CHICAGO (Reuters) - U.S. scientists have developed a microfiber fabric that generates its own electricity, making enough current to recharge a cell phone or ensure that a small MP3 music player never runs out of power.

1/2 of U.K. Men Would Give Up Sex For A TV?!?

1/2 of U.K. Men Would Give Up Sex For A TV?!?

Lol…I wonder what this stats would be like here in the States. Although, I haven’t asked David, our blogger who is in UK, whether he’d give up sex for a TV… I know I wouldn’t trade sex for TV unless my girlfriend was 3 months pregnant.

LONDON - Nearly half of British men surveyed would give up sex for six months in return for a 50-inch plasma TV, a survey — perhaps unsurprisingly carried out for a firm selling televisions — said on Friday.

Gamer Tries to Build Nuclear Reactor at Home, FBI Came Around to Play

Gamer Tries to Build Nuclear Reactor at Home, FBI Came Around to Play

Cool, this guy’s on TV for tryin’ to build a nuclear reactor. Too bad he didn’t have a SiteHoppin.com shirt on… :p

Apparently bored of his amateur game-building hobby, he decided to try to make a small-scale nuclear reaction in his room, blogging his antics on the web.

Someone blew the whistle on him when he made claims about uranium and doubling the normal background radiation count in his room, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission raided his home. He won’t be getting his Darwin Award or even arrested, though, since the Feds didn’t find anything dangerous.

They did take away his toy though, embarrassingly because his parents asked them to. Defending his experiment in an interview he argued “People do it in universities all the time, it’s just not usual that somebody does it outside of a university”, which is pretty true, after all.

The USB stress buster

Posted in Consumer, Cool, Entertainment, Funny, Gadgets, Household, Jobs, News, USB by david on the December 24th, 2007 at 12:00 pm

Now if you spend a lot of time on the phone talking really bad customers who are constantly complaining about this and that, then is probably something that you would be interested as you could get off the phone and bash the devices head in.

punch head

Being plugged into the USB port means that it has power and therefore the head can make sound of pain as you hit it, very satisfying and yet probably dangerous for the computer.

The world-famous Coca-Cola and Korean online games entered into a partnership.

Posted in Business, Computer, Consumer, Games, News, Online Games by max on the November 22nd, 2007 at 11:42 pm

The world-famous Coca-Cola and Korean online games entered into a partnership.

Coca Cola is partnering with Korean online games to promote online games through Coca Cola. I am guessing the one on the left is a representative from Coca Cola and the one on the right is probably the CEO of the Korean online games company???

Okay, here’s the answer:

For this purpose, KIPA dispatched Vice President Taek Min Kwon of the Digital Contents Business Group and working staff to Hong Kong and signed an MOU on joint promotion with Coca-Cola Hong Kong (General Manager Mei So) on the 15th. Korea-made online games will be marketed to Coca-Cola consumers in Hong Kong on the online platform.

Web2.0 News - eBay acquiring Stumbleupon

Posted in Business, Web by max on the April 18th, 2007 at 12:32 pm

StumbleUpon lgo

Okay, we are going to try some Web 2.0 news from now on…i think…

It looks like eBay is acquiring Stumbleupon for around $50 million bucks. Maybe they can make people stumble onto humorous ebay pages like a Sony laptop being sold for 10K. I am not exactly sure what their plan is but it seems like StumbleUpon is getting bigger and bigger than ever. Yeah, if you had a StumbleUpon site in countries that StumbleUpon doesn’t support, you’d make some big bucks…

High-flying startup StumbleUpon has been rumored to be in acquisition discussions since at least last November. Recently we’ve heard that talks have heated up again, with Google, AOL and eBay as potential suitors. A source with knowledge of the deal now says the company has signed a term sheet with eBay to be acquired. The price is somewhere between $40 - $75 million. (update: GigaOm is now reporting the price at a $40 - $45 million).

StumbleUpon lets users rate websites via a browser toolbar. At any time a user can click “Stumble!” and will be taken to a website highly rated by other StumbleUpon users who tend to vote in a similar way as the person “stumbling.” More often than not, it’s something almost serendipitously interesting to the reader. The company expanded into video referrals in late 2006.
