How To…Trim your Coax TV CableDIY - HOW TO trim your Coax TV Cable! 2

Here’s a cool little DIY on how to trim that nasty cable TV coaxial cable that seems to stick out in your living room.

Coax Cables are one of the main culprits causing a mess behind our televisions. The cable guy often doesn’t think about the fact that we don’t need the lengthy cables he leaves behind. In our case, we had monster cables behind our TV and were determined to shrink them rather than control them…

Fryer Doubles as Fish Aquarium - Is it fish abuse or not?

Check out this video of the fish tank doubling as a fryer. Maybe the fish will be smart enough to not go over the water into the hot oil… I don’t mind the video but the food cooked in that environment just doesn’t seem too tasty…

See, you have this aquarium with real live fish, and then, sitting right on top, is piping hot oil (163 Celsius) that is actually used to cook food. Since the water and the oil don’t mix, all the fish have to do to stay alive is not venture into the hot oil on top. What’s more, fallen crumbs from the frying process fall into this aquarium, serving as fish food.

DIY Linux - How to set up a custom firewall using iptables

Here’s a cool DIY I stumbled onto today that shows you how to setup a custom firewall using iptables. This might not be for those of you who already have a GUI server management system but it’s good to know just in case your GUI goes down…

After getting some problems with firestarter i decided to get knowledge about iptables and how to set my own firewall script and want to share this experience for users who want to set a custom firewall up quickly.
The purpose of this guide is to provide a basic knowledge about iptables and then help to create a firewall script.
The final step will be to make the script running on each boot.

Samsung Display direct sunlight

Wow, check out the new samsung display that is visible in direct sunlight!

This means the 2.1-inch panel will look sharp regardless of whether you’re in a dark room or out in direct sunlight. Samsung calls the new technology Automatic Brightness Adjustment. The QVGA display will also use 20&ndash30 percent less power than other screens its size. It’s expected to hit production the second half of this year.
