Lol, Microsoft is implying that Apple Macs are too expensive on their new ads, as seen in this vid. It’s true though, I “still” have bought 1 Mac in my whole entire life, that was for one of the graphic designers I hired, not for me. Of course, I will always need the extra features that PC give me, (ironic huh saying this and coming from a person who doesn’t like Windows) there’s so much more you can do on a PC.

Of course, I will never be satisfied with Windows, the operating system, but yes, PCs will always rule and that doesn’t mean Windows is good though, but Intel/AMD CPUs and the hardware that runs it is very good…

I just don’t want to spend over $2000-3000 on a Mac, when I can get like 3-4 PC laptops worth $600 each. Besides, it’s wiser to buy a $600 every year rather than shelling out your wallet at one-time, which you will regret when your $3000 laptop is worth less than half of its original price the year after. Btw, I did buy a $2000 HP laptop every year. Not because the HP laptops were slow, they all DIED. No more HP laptops for next 10 years I think… (for me.)

That’s right, it’s a not-Mac! I mean, it’s an HP! It’s hard to keep track, since the only complaint the commercial brings up is that Giampaolo (henceforth referred to as “John”) wants to pay for the components, and not the brand. And that’s a fairly reasonable point of view, according to our study of the infamous “Apple Tax.” It’s true, John simply cannot buy a new MacBook with, say, 4GB of memory for under $1,500. But as any Apple fanboy knows, with Apple, your premium pays for the software, and for Microsoft (primarily a software company!) to take the position that software has no impact on value is an odd choice.

My redneck friend used to say FORD stood for “Fucked Over Rebuilt Dodge” and I have been confused to why he has a FORD now. Anyways, there’s a Ford Mustang body kit for those of you with a Toyota MR2. I don’t know why you would want to do this but you can.

I guess these guys are based in UK and they must be able to do this regardless of what kind of car you have. It might be a great idea to build a sleeper car that “looks” like a Mustang but goes waaay faster?

Parking Hack – How to Hack Parking Meters!

Well, San Francisco has been buzzin’ with new parking meters that can be paid wireless via your cellphone or even re-charged via a website.

Here’s a bunch of neat stuff on how to hack parking meters.

*NOTE: This is informational only, not for real life, don’t blame us if you get arrested. :p

If you can find a similar-sized coin from another country, that might be a good way. I used to use Korean won coins for video games at my local pizza restaurant and they worked like a charm.

Here’s an excerpt from someone who advocates using Chinese Candy, lol:

If you live in a big city that has a “Chinatown”, then another great way to cheat the meter is to purchase a roll of chinese candy called “HAW FLAKES” at any chinese 5 and dime store.

Haw Flakes come in small rolls of twenty and cost about a nickel a roll. Haw Flakes WORK IN THE METERS AS QUARTERS (not the digital meters). You put in one Haw flake and GENTLY turn the crank. Sometimes they break, so just try again. They do work. Haw Flakes are mighty yummy too..but remember thier great value as money before you scarf all your quarters down. You Chinese folks out there no what the hell I’m talking about don’t cha……

Here’s another hack that makes the parking meter go out of order by holding your quarter half-way for about a minute.

What I’ve seen done in Chinatown in Oakland, California is that the locals will simply bust ALL the parking meters. Even though the city replaces it, they get busted within hours so I think the city gave up trying to charge people for parking… Lol…yes, people have “powers” when they come together and bust parking meters. I am not saying that’s a right thing to do but heck, I’ve seen that HACK.

I’ve also seen people stick small, thin objects into the parking meter or sometimes even gum or urine.

Another good way is to simply do above then place an “Out Of Order” sandwich bag over the parking meter. This will drive the parking meter people crazy and you can fight these even if you get a ticket. (Who wants to put a quarter where someone put gum and urine all over it???)

Anyways, those are just some ideas on how to hack parking meters if the world ended tomorrow but don’t do it, be an honest person. – “What you do will always come back to you.” Smile!

Firefox Hits Record Market Share at 20%!

Yey, my favorite Firefox browser hits record market share of 20%! Although still far aways from taking over IE, it’s far better than 4-5% couple years ago when Firefox started becoming more and more popular among U.S. users. (Btw, Asian users still rely on IE mostly, due to the fact that most of their online credit card systems work exclusively with IE’s encryption technology. I have been one of those users in South Korea where almost every bank website requires you to use IE.)

Here’s a funny story though. I happened to be helping one of my friends build his business in San Francisco. When I first checked out his computers, I installed Firefox since the IE7 was so damn freakin’ slow. Well, after couple weeks when I checked back with him, he told me his computer got faster after I installed Firefox. Lol…yes Firefox is much faster, especially on the new Vista systems where IE7 will just fall apart after awhile.

On the side note, Chrome is steadily increasing its market share too, a great thing to have more browsers competing for consumers’ throats.

Internet Explorer (IE) dropped from 71.52% to 71.27%, according to Net Applications, and remains the software with the fastest declining market share among a group of the six most used browsers. Since the beginning of this year, IE lost 4.2 points, while Firefox gained 2.99 points, Apple Safari 0.75 points, Opera 0.13 points and Google’s Chrome 0.74 points.

The only other browsers that gained market share between September and October was Opera, which jumped from 0.69% to 0.75%. Apple’s Safari dropped slightly from 6.65 to 6.57%, Chrome from 0.78% to 0.74% and Netscape from 0.63% to 0.45%, according to Net Applications.

Check out this highway road in Lancaster, California that makes harmonic noises when you drive over them.

This is a road in Lancaster Ca. that makes music when you drive over it. It was created for a commercial and they designed harmonics in the asphalt to create the music when driven over. Apparently other countries have been doing it for awhile. Unfortunately people complianed and it is being removed. Their probably the same ones who complain about the jets flying through the valley. lol

The decoration is the handiwork of Kim Young-jun, the head of a manufacturing company called Gookbo. Microsoft was looking for a unique decoration representing traditional Korean beauty.

Lol… BAE Systems is in development of “insect” robots to help soldiers fight in wars. While this does remind me of many cool sci-fi movies, I just can’t believe all my hard earned money will go to taxes then to this?!?

I am totally against war and even if internet was invented from wars, this isn’t the direction I expected. Well, at the least, it can help save some lives of soldiers who go to “future” wars.

The Micro Autonomous Systems and Technology (MAST) Collaborative Technology Alliance will research and develop advanced robotic equipment for use in urban environments and complex terrain, such as mountains and caves. The alliance will create an autonomous, multifunctional collection of miniature intelligence-gathering robots that can operate in places too inaccessible or dangerous for humans.

Well… that might be over-analysis. Did you know that 5/5 is also Children’s Day in Korea?

With the high number of Latino community, I believe Google could have easily given their custom graphics to celebrate the 5/5 day.

Oh well, every day is a new day. The richer get richer, the poorer get poorer, doesn’t that ring a bell in the Web2.0 world?

Ask.com bungled the spelling of Cinco de Mayo, but at least they made an effort. Pictured here are Yahoo’s animated mariachis and dancers. But Google, the company well known for its holiday flights of logo fancy? Nada. Yes, it’s actually a minor holiday south of the border. But the victory in Puebla over the French has gone unnoticed in the Googleplex for the ninth year running.

Lol… here’s some cool spud gun to cool you down while I review lots of Web 2.0 stuff…

This Stinger Spud Gun shoots 10 inch PVC missiles! There are no details on the build but by looking at it I would guess that the red button that is used to ignite the gun is a BBQ igniter. The rest of the gun appears to be the standard spud gun that has been dressed up with the black holder and scope. Have a look at the video, looks like it works very well!

So you thought that driving a van was not cool? Think again, with this van when someone gives you a dirty look all you need to do is flip a switch to open the rear window and slide the two massive jet turbine exhaust ports out. Crank up the jet turbine and burn everything behind you! On the track it can do 1/8th mile in 7.65 seconds at 96 mph. Not bad for a vehicle that looks like the family van in the driveway.

On the upside, we are actually getting 115K uniques for this blog.

On the downside, I am actually broke as hell but it’s sounds really good when you say I make a lot of money! Lol…

Anyways, David is no longer writing for us anymore because we are really running out of money. (again…)

But, what I’ve experience in my life, is that when you are truly really broke with $100 in the bank, you really start trying hard.

Even lab rats will not follow the cheese unless they are tested with hunger and what not.

Okay, we sold Wagg.It for $2000 on SitePoint today, which is good since our $800 server fees were due today and I just had enough money to pay my rent. We will be okay for next month. We are just hopin’ that SiteHoppin’ takes off a little bit more but so far, so good for our efforts.

Our next goal is to turn Zedomax.com into a blog about nothing like John Chow’s blog. Why? Well, he’s makin’ like 25 grand a month! Well, we make like $800 a month. We got a long way to go but with your help spreading the word about SiteHoppin, that could happen. duh~

We tried too hard with not enough money or food. I’ve lost about 10 pounds last couple months just trying to cope with myself losing my job and whatever. At least, now I am free, totally free to be my own boss and take the time to take my girlfriend’s brother’s dog Za out for a jog everyday.

So, what the WTF?

Nothin’ This is a blog about nothing but stupid technology we have to deal with everyday. If you don’t visit Zedomax.com everyday, you will die the next day!!! Hahaha….LOL…

U know what I realize over the years? Well, this is coming from the man who experienced it. Nobody cares about you, especially how you are going to make a living everyday.

I’ve been always a big fan of Linux, (although I am stuck with Windows XP most of the time because all my apps are on there…but I did use Linux before with 3 VMs running Windows to solve that problem.) here’s a cool way to make your Windows XP “look” like Fedora.

Another simple way? Delete Windows and install Fedora. Lol…

Best Digital Cameras 2008 – Is it Canon?

Here’s a good review of the “best digital cameras” of 2008. It seems like 3 out of 5 are Canon. I personally own 2 Canons, both SD750. (I dropped one of them in the sand at the beach and tried to get it fixed but Canon would try to charge me $300! I bought the camera for like $299. But they sent it back fixed, I guess they were just trying to rob me of my money. Lol…)

Canons are great except if you drop them in the “sand” at the beach, they will no longer function like before and they suck. Just don’t drop your Canon in sand and you should be okay.

Ooohhh, it looks like they are going to have a new Moto Q called Moto Q9h at 2008 CES. We will be there I think…as long as we have enough customers on EntreWiki…lol…

The only thing I am worried about with this phone is the Windows operating system. I’ve had such terrible experience with any phone that runs Windows Mobile that I’ve already switched to Blackberry, which I don’t like that much either but it’s faster.

I am very bad with 3D Stereograms, but here’s a site I used to make the one shown above. I know what it says, but just can’t see it. Can you guess what it is?

Ok I’ll admit it this website has little technical value but in the course of another project it stumbled its way into my lap and is worth passing along. According to the numbers 85 – 90% of all people cannot view a sterogram which is what this website creates. I used to be in the group of people who could not seem to view it. Not wanted to be in some sort of inferior seeing group I practices using the methods below and with a little bit of coaxing from this website I can now see the 3D images created by a Sterogram. Thank you Flash-Gear lol.
