Pyro DIY - Fireworks Ignition Control System using Parallax SX48!

You know when it comes to New Years and Independence Day, you always get to see some really exotic, beautiful fireworks. Well, all those fireworks are nowdays controlled by an ignition control system but here’s how to make one for yourself.
At the heart of my firework ignition system is an SX48 running at 50 MHz. I was able to make full use of the SX’s 36 IO pins. Thirty lines are dedicated to the 30 channels. Two lines connect to a MAX233 chip for serial port control. Another line is connected to a 7805 (TO-92) which monitors the state of the arming key. The remaining 3 lines are used to communicate with the PIC A/D converter via an SPI interface. The system was built with cost as an important factor. At $10 the SX48 Proto board was an easy choice with its incorporated 5V regulator, led and all the difficult surface mount soldering already done for me. I also designed 2 pc boards using the freeware version of Cadsoft’s Eagle. The interface board connects the SX48 Proto board and contains the MAX233 chip, A/D converter and 30 LEDs to represent the state of each of the 30 channels.

CPR Resuscitation Pad increases the Chances of saving Lives!

Here’s a great concept CPR resuscitation pad that might work if the pad itself was adjustable for people with different sizes. But yes, having one of these handy might be real useful for any heart attacks.
Proper application of CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) can increase the chances of a victim surviving by up to 50%. Designer Ryan Helps (yup, really his name) has addressed this issue with his “CPR-PAD” design. When applied to the chest, this monitor/aid shows the optimal way to push the chest correctly, clicks when proper pressure is achieved and flashes the power light for proper rhythm.
UPDATE by Ryan Helps the designer:
It’s a product that would be used in a similar way to a fire extinguisher, mounted on posts or walls in shopping centres (wallmart’s), in public places, and easily accessible during an emergency.
im also exhibiting at New Designers London 9-13th July.

SiteHoppin’ 10K Baby!
Wow, this is simply something I’ve never done, make a website and then make it get over 10,000 UNIQUE VISITORS within 11 days.
Check this out:

Wow, we haven’t really hit 10K yet, but we got 9,991 and it’s still 10:01PM baby.
We are excited as hell like couple days ago when we reached 6,953! But, the day right after my birthday, my new site, SiteHoppin’ took off crazier than any sites I’ve ever made AND one of my best college buddies Billy Hendrix’s girlfriend, just had a boy baby this mornin’! Well, I am not gonna lie to you, my kid’s comin’ up next month, but THIS is really cool.
I wanna shout out to all the supporters out there expecially Studio Equipment, who has been always on top of what we do here at Zedomax.com. Umm…it’s really hard finding great friends on the internet you can really trust but Studio Equipment is just the guy there to communicate with you on a personal level and you just “feel” that sorta thing.
Thanks again Studio Equipment, you’ve been helluva help to Zedomax and you added so much positive input, I can’t thank you more. :p
He’s always been helpin’ us to be more positive and keep workin’ hard to reach our goals, it’s a “feel” thing. Thanks dude, that means a lot whether that’s comin’ out from my heart, or I am just insanely crazy.
Without readers like Studio Equipment, Zedomax would be dead. Thanks a LOT!
How is SiteHoppin’ takin’ off help Zedomax? Well, first of all, you “control” the traffic on SiteHoppin’. That means, you can direct traffic to any website you want to including you own. Well, we’ve seen results so let’s just see how well it does for the next couple weeks.
P.S. Our target is to become as big as Google or even bigger. I know, they have a founder who graduated from Stanford and everythin’, but we have a core developer who can catch a golf ball 21 times. Lol…okay, if we can just reach 1% of Google, we’d probably be happy.
Still using the big old Google algorithm? Dump it and start using our own search engine based on “Beer” rankings. That’s right, you get to rate the sites with beers and also get fu()ked up during that time. Get your SiteHoppin’ goin’ here…
P.S.2. We are expecting to reach above our maximum ranking on Alexa tomorrow so watch out! At least I can tell you I told you so if I am right about this…
UPDATE:
While I was writing this post, we reached 10,091 UNIQUE VISITORS!!! HOLY CRAP!
Alright thanks y’all for supporin’ SiteHooppin’. We are in a “drunkey” mood tonight and here to celebrate my birthday too, which was lasterday.
Let’s just hope our hacking continues and we keep risin’
$13.3 Million of Earth Class Mail vs. $1 SiteHoppin
Here’s a showcase of the website that has $13.3 million invested in it versus our new site, SiteHoppin.com, which pretty costed nothin’ but my brain on some php.
Earth Class Mail was first launched on September 2005! SiteHoppin launched 8 days ago. Here’s the Alexa stats comparing the two:

The only reason I am posting this is because I expect something more than this from TechCrunch, not some bs site that has millions of dollars invested with nothing to show for traffic. (God, if we invested even a million dollars in SiteHoppin, our traffic would be so beyond exponential!)
I am not baggin’ on anyone here, I am just saying that Web2.0 is all about innovation, not money. You can have millions of dollars and spend all your dollars on a site like Earth Class Mail that produces zilch traffic. On the other hand, SiteHoppin is all about developers hard work and heart into the site with ZERO dollars invested. (well, except money for beer of course and pizza!)
Now, what do u think will be more successful? The site with money put on the developers’ faces or a site with passion and hard work with no guarantee of income?
In case you are mistaken, SiteHoppin’ is all about 24 hours of working night and day (with brews around for devlopers) without pay sorta like working in a third world country.

Newest Navy Aircraft Unveiled by Northrop Grumman

Oooh, this is a cool plane…
t the heart of the aircraft is the new radar, the APY-9, designed and built by Lockheed Martin Corporation. It can “see” smaller targets and more of them at greater ranges than the E-2C. The new rotodome, developed by L-3 Communications Randtron Antenna Systems, contains the critically important, continuous, 360-degree scanning capability, while adding an electronically scanned array. This system allows operators to focus the radar on selected areas of interest.
